DeadJohn
TLDR: As long as your PC has sufficient RAM install Near Future first in sandbox mode and use it for a bit, then add Bluedog and you'll likely be good for months of play. There are many excellent part mods. In general, any mod that worked well with KSP 1.8 will still be good with 1.12.5. The "best" part mods depend on your preferred style of play. Do you want to design your own rockets from scratch, copy actual historical rockets, design futuristic spaceplanes, fly normal planes around Kerbin, etc.? Design from scratch: I second Nertea's Near Future collection of mods already mentioned above. Historical: Bluedog Design Bureau for older USA rockets, Tantares for Soviet era rockets, Knes for European rockets. All 3 of those can replicate many actual rocket designs plus you can mix and match for custom designs. Some smaller mods can do modern SpaceX, Orion, SLS, Starliner. Spaceplanes: Shuttle Orbiter Construction Kit for the most realistic space shuttle. For more flexible custom designs of your own Mk2 Stockalike Expansion , Mk3 Stockalike Expansion, Prakasa Aeroworks, Orbital Portal Technologies (OPT), and more. Pick and choose some of those mods, not all of them at the same time. If you have a good PC with lots of RAM you can theoretically use them all but your part list will get very cluttered. Do you play career mode? Some parts costs haven't been completely balanced vs stock and cause excessively expensive or ridiculously cheap rockets. Near Future parts work well with career. Bluedog is also good with career and even includes its own contracts. 9 hours ago, AllanPCool said: can please have links to the mods That creates a lot of work for us when you're asking such an open ended question. I'd need to search for ~20 links just for the mods I mentioned. Use this forum's search tool, or general search engines, or the CKAN mod installer to lookup mods is a good way to do it. All of the mods I mentioned are listed with CKAN. If you narrow down your preferred style of play and/or have trouble searching for a specific mod, please reply and I'll post some links.
