[1.0.5] FASA 5.44

That's a good idea, but any plans to make a texture set that matches your FASA/Novapunch textures??

I remember the person who makes Stretchy Tanks made a texture pack to match his new textures he's making/made(?) for the ST mod, and IIRC the makers of the KOSMOS mod made a set of fairings using Procedural Fairings that had matching textures to those used by his parts....

So the funny bit on the new pod is that 2 of the guys are upside down, so the cameras are also upside down. Also added a floating sandwich, it floats even when not in zero G but, I like it, so it stays.

Also added foot holes to the outside of Big G helpful!

Will release it after I make sure .22 didn't break anything.

Frizzank i realise it was put to a vote but can i just say it makes more sense with the parts tree to make the Atlas rocket and the Agenda before the MOL and ask you to consider doing the MOL later? or it least to put the parts necessary to make an Atlas early on in the tree

So while I was waiting for .22 to come out, I made some parts. Like always only because I really want them when I build rockets.

O2, and H2 separate fuel tanks, a combined tank, and a mini mono tank.

Unlike the stock rcs tank you can attach things to the outside of it!

If you attach them to a strut and the engine is on the strut you don't need fuel lines.

Also Big G added to spaceport. As always post bugs if you find them.

Just as I was finished initially toying with 0.22 and was planning to go to bed...

Thanks :D

EDIT: Some stuff I noticed:

  • Big G in part titles is spelled as Gig G everywhere.
  • The Big G Docking Bay is far too light. It weighs less than the Gemini Pod or the Landing Legs. From the schematics we've seen a thousand times in this thread, it seems to have quite a bit space for fuel. Probably less than the regular Equipment section of the normal Gemini configuration, but not as little as it has now. The fuel tanks aren't as long as the regular Equipment section, but it's wider which evens everything out.
  • The Big G craft file has two RCS thruster packs on the front. Not realistic, nor necessary. If you put your RCS quad in the right place on the Big G's back it handles like a dream.
  • Some few CFG tweaks need to be made to make the current parts compatible with the science gathering part of 0.22. You probably knew that, but I thought I'd let you know in case you haven't checked it out very thoroughly yet.

Overall it's a wonderful update though. The Big G docking works great, the extra crew space comes in very handy. A tip for other players: the RCS quad from KW Rocketry fits perfectly with the FASA theme/detailing and doesn't stand out like the stock RCS quad.

Awesome I am horrible at proof reading, thanks for the help. Will tweak the docking port thing some more as well. When I do the MOL and Agena, they will be science specific updates. Until then if some one would like to help integrate the science gathering into the current cfg's I would be most grateful.

For current science: just need to add this to the Gemini pod, lander, or any crewable space:

MODULE
{
name = ModuleScienceExperiment

experimentID = crewReport

experimentActionName = Crew Report
resetActionName = Discard Crew Report
reviewActionName = Review Report

useStaging = False
useActionGroups = True
hideUIwhenUnavailable = True
rerunnable = True

xmitDataScalar = 1.0
}
MODULE
{
name = ModuleScienceContainer

reviewActionName = Review Stored Data
storeActionName = Store Experiments
evaOnlyStorage = True
storageRange = 1.3
}

An atmopsheric pressure sensor might make sense for the nose section of Gemini too:

MODULE
{
name = ModuleScienceExperiment

experimentID = atmosphereAnalysis

experimentActionName = Run Atmosphere Analysis
resetActionName = Discard Data
reviewActionName = Review Data

useStaging = False
useActionGroups = True
hideUIwhenUnavailable = True
rerunnable = True

xmitDataScalar = 0.9
}
