Hey, rareden, back to the topic of 3D stuff.

I've been working with some effects in good ol' blender, and i've come up with a not half bad looking grass block.

So...

What do you think, and what could i do to improve it?

(other than the obvious issues with the strands being too wild)

Hm... fertilizer maybe?... OH! You should try a landscaping service, they make your grass look very nice, also make sure the temp isn't too high.

i presume your using blenders particle fur?

the way i do it is i model a few strands of grass then scatter them on the surface like so

Yep, that's the way to go with hair. You can never get a good grass model with only the hair system.

So, after like 20 trial and error renders, i believe this is of better quality than what i had before.

I tried to replicate your scene, but changed it in a way that wasn't quite copying....

So... better?

Rareden, one question, or two actually. What render will my SSTO be in? Is it the Jool one? Also, does my SSTO look good enough?

Well, it's only 720 by 720, so it's rather low res...

Mostly because all the detail particles is slowing down the render(two minutes per scene frame...)

there are over 50,000 strands of grass after all...

no its not the image size, the one i linked is similar, mine has more strands, its just the way blender works i think, looks like its using a very basic AA filter or non at all
