So, this is an excellent thread with some amazing artwork in it. However, it keeps taking a turn towards inane and off-topic posts, which do nothing but crowd up the thread and make it difficult to find the actual artwork.

The most recent off-topic posts have been removed to clean the thread up and any further off-topic posts will be removed without warning and the poster may receive infractions/warnings for this posting.

We want to keep this thread as on-topic as possible, so we can all find the awesome work within, without having to wade through a couple of pages full o' Cage. :)

all the relevant stuff is on the front page dude, all other pages are people saying its awesome and what not or just random updates and ideas

Just my advice, I think you should make your own Laythe terrain, but keep to the same color scheme. It's impossible for life outside of Laythe's oceans to exist due to radiation. But hey, you're the artist, and I'm just a random guy checking your thread so yeah do what you want.

Ehh I've ripped the Laythe textures from in-game. They're only 4k. Not good if you want to get a closeup shot.

or even from orbit, for a planet of that size the terrain dosnt really match it, mountains are too singular and large

im generating a island for comparison atm

Love your work Rareden! I'm curious on how you select the pieces you create. Do you just take the occasional request or do you sift through the mountain of requests from everyone until you find that "one"?

Originally i made a few of my own then opened up for requests, and got flooded with them im still working on on the last of them to this day :D, i did have to thin out the herd a bit. I should have been more selective on what i make, because (no offence intended to people) some of the request have been rather dull, simple and fast to make but not very interesting. That said, a few have been a pleasure to make and have turned out fantastically
