Question about English language: which word to describe the "silly" of beloved?

I mean, in some culture people call some of the beloved one's extremely devotional, adorable or selfless behaviors as "silly"/"fool"/"idiotic" - of course it's an antiphrasis. My question is, which word in English has such a meaning, would causing less misunderstanding?

I don't know off the top of my head, haha.

I think "infatuation" is the closest match to that.

EDIT: Yeah i checked on Merriam-Webster dictionary: http://www.merriam-webster.com/dictionary/infatuation

Definition of INFATUATE

1

: to cause to be foolish : deprive of sound judgment

2

: to inspire with a foolish or extravagant love or admiration.

Uhh… The iOS dictionary says infatuation has the only meaning of "an intense but short-lived passion or admiration for someone or something", and in some other dictionaries it only refers to love, having less antiphrasis meaning.

There's a few, actually, although they have slightly different connotations.

"Infatuation / Infatuated" and "puppy love" have already been mentioned.

"Obsession" can be used for an intense, overriding preoccupation with someone or something, especially to unhealthy extremes. It doesn't have to be strictly romantic, though.

"Sentimental" can be used in reference to attitudes or actions brought about by feelings as opposed to reason.

There's also words like "sugary," "saccharine," "sappy," "twee," and "cutesy," which are generally more lighthearted ways to describe something or someone that's cute or affectionate beyond reasonable expectations.
