I greatly dislike shuttles in KSP. I've build a few for fun, but they're really nothing special besides an interesting engineering challenge. This one I built using KW and the Mk. 3 expansion mod to give it some functionality.

At the same time, the benefits of the shuttle for NASA (moves crew about and cargo as well) don't really apply or exist in KSP, making them useless compared to dedicated one-off rockets (which cost nothing to develop but the price of a few Kerbals, and those guys are everywhere) or otherwise tested launch vehicles.
