KingPhantom
i extended my satellite "send date from" system with eve and gilly. now i have satellites in the orbit of kerbin, mun, minmus, duna, ike, eve and gilly.
KerbMav
Scrapped my Laythe/Vall (both hopeless) approach and reverted to my Pol orbit.Somehow dV requirements are way higher than expected to hop from one Joolian moon to another. Also, at some point my ship creates strange forces that change its velocity vector slowly. Mister Kerman
You can witness the whole trip in my youtube playilist titled "Rover Adventures - Around Kerbin", don't worry, all of them are short timelapses. This is the final video.http://youtu.be/5Kdqv0PDDaMI aint watching that... Still F-ing amazing though. Congratz Wooks! +
soulsource
I didn't play KSP on the weekend, but continued planning my communication network for RT2. I'm now nearly done with the planning, and this is how it looks:I'll put two relays on the Muns orbit around Kerbin, one leading, one trailing. These will link to three satellites that are sharing Kerbins orbit around Kerbol and will be directly linking to the other planets, where equilateral triangles of relays will then keep the planets covered and linked to their moons. The reason for this crazy setup is, that I'd like to avoid having dozens of batteries on my sats to have them last through night/eclipse times, and putting them on the same orbit as Kerbin, they might eventually have an Eve or Moho transit, but nothing that could really block the sunlight. Therefore, they can fully run on solar panels without ever running out of power. Also, since they will form an equilateral triangle no planet should be totally blocked at any time. The sats on the Mun's orbit on the other hand will experience the munar night for about 40 minutes each period, but since they'll only have three dishes, their power consumption is acceptable, as is the number of required batteries. Another issue is that I don't have the strongest antennas unlocked yet, so at the moment I can only reach out to planets not farther than Dres. This is why I'm going to put docking ports on the sats, so that I can "easily" (signal delay...) mount additional dishes in the future.Disclaimer: I know that crafts that aren't focused don't use any electricity, but well, I like to keep things "realistic". TheOsmiumGamer
I got an awesome flyby of minmus with a mun encounter on the way back to kerbin in career mode! I got a ot of science:D
DocMoriarty
I continued work on my soon to be launched assembly of a space train to Duna containing a standard space station core, lots of fuel and the 3 tugs that will propell it. Still missing are landers. Crew is already on board. Unlike earlier versions of KSP this is actually a pretty small space train, but career mode ... Yet all parts were brought into LKO and assembled by transport space planes, not a single rocket was used.
corvustech
This weekend I cleaned up my docking pattern at Minmus Station and sent a one man salvage ship to dock with it for Kerbin SoI operations. It is now a fully armed and operational salvage and science station. I also made my first attempt at an interplanetary probe. It is currently awaiting it's maneuvers to get closer to Eve. Voculus
That's a crazy wide screen you've got going. Triple monitor?Yep! Loving it, so far. Ruthgar, thanks for the heads up. I'm going to dump garbage into orbit until KSP can no longer keep up. I just want one collision!
Shawarmakriger
I built the Conqueror Station in orbit between Jool and Laythe. It has two landers, a science/command module, extra fuel and docking areas for future ventures. I'm planning on sending another fuel module, a living module and a Laythe SSTO spaceplane there. von Ziegendorf
Since it's a very WIP test it was HyperEdited but for real flight will be built in orbit, there would be also two 3.75m side tanks but they need no testing

Redd
Ah, story of my life. I see all of you folks building beautiful ships, reaching faraway lands unscathed and building entire colonies living in space stations. And then there's me, trying to get myself into an orbit. DaPatman
Driving on Gilly is an interesting experience, somewhere between driving and flying, you just get so much airtime. I wasn't able to get up to much above 7 m/s, nowhere near what's needed for orbit, but had a nice time bobbing over the hills of Gilly.I can tell you from experience that the trick to driving on Gilly is to have an engine (a PB-ION is powerful enough, and has the added benefit of its high ISP meaning you won't need that much Xenon unless you plan on doing a lot of driving) pushing you down.As for me, my new job means I don't have any time to play KSP. Hopefully I'll have some free time one weekend with nothing else I want to play...
soulsource
I killed 2 Kerbals - out of pure stupidity....When the return ship entered Kerbins upper atmosphere, I dropped everything below the heat shield - including life support. Sadly, aerobreaking didn't put the apoapsis far enough to make the remaining supplies in the capsule last long enough. Worst part is, that the dropped fuel would have easily been enough...The other 4 Kerbals that died today were victims of stupid plane designs... problemecium
I think I've finally completed the design for my Jool-5 mothership, which I shall dub "Kidonia" in honor of Knights of Sidonia. Here I've just completed a test launch to see if I can get the main core structure into orbit using four heavy lifters bolted together (which are still attached on the back). It worked better than I'd feared! I must have gotten better at struts or something. Also it should be noted that the Kerbodyne boosters make great structural elements....yes this was launched as an SSTO. I do EVERYTHING as an SSTO! SelectHalfling0
Today I was driving my Mun Explorer rover ~30km to a low-lying basin. As I'm driving along I come across the best thing for a rover- 12km stretch of flat, un-cratered land with a few rolling hills.

Ruthgar
I was working on building my Minimus base in my "Better than Starting Manned"/"Deadly Reentry" mod career when I heard the news about Robin Williams. After that, I just couldn't find it in me to continue working on it.

SatunV
You used a few too many landing legs, probly cost you a few dozen-few hundred in Delta-VYou're probably right, if I'd known I was going to land on a perfectly flat area then I could have used a few less. However I had conducted a few uncrewed missions very similar to this before hand and had found that if I landed on more sloping areas with fewer legs I risked them failing. Besides I'm happy to pay the dV toll for a worry free landing :-)
Geschosskopf
I spent $403,000 and change, pretty much all I had in the bank, to get a 15-ton lab module and a 35-ton cyclotron module docked up in Munar orbit. The crew of 4 has food for nearly 2 years, which they'll probably need because it'll be a while before I can afford to send them any experiments to do with all that equipment .Fortunately, I hear that a government bailout (in the form of an update to this mod's contract payouts) is in the offing .
