What did you do in KSP1 today?

No time to really play, but started working on docking a fuel tank to my space station in LKO. I set up the rendezvous encounter, but it's a little far. I need to fine tune it a bit and complete the intercept next time I play. I'd like to get a few tanks up in orbit so I can start launching some long distance missions. I also need to work on getting back to Eve and Duna and landing on their moons.

Today I decided to quite playing KSP. It's sucked up way too much of my free time the last few months so I've decided to delete it from my computer and do my best to forget about it. With that I bid farewell to this awesome community while I move on to do more productive things with my life.
Damnit you got me. But joke's on you because it's 2pm where I am :P

Since my last post I did a lot of stuff. Noticeable I was able to get my Heavy Ion Probe from close Kerbol orbit to Eve, which cleared the space from junk and also got me some science from EVEs atmosphere. Also I departed my first lander to Moho (after a succesfull orbitting probe got there) and departed to Jool with my Joomber 1 project (short for Jool Bomber, because its a main probe with 6 small probes along side, like boombs  ). But the biggest accomplishment came from my newest aircraft design, the "Let 6 Sprinter". Designed as a very powerfull, but small and light aircraft. And whats so good about it? Its the first aircraft that I was able to get into space only with jet power. On second flight it 2 times leaved the atmosphere of Kerbin. Also its the first craft that was able to circle Kerbin with one small jet tank and still have enough fuel to continue for few hundreds of km. As I am preparing for my large SSTO craft project, I am going back to basics of aircraft design to optimize my designs and also learn how to get maximum out of air breathing engines. This craft will be very usefull in this.

Well. Finally was able to upload this: 472866FD38E7EBDF23BEEAD0A1FB78E07ADD00D7

Think engineer redues was the cause or the fact I had 80+ active flights or a really really wierd bug as it only happens when I fly over KSP Launch pad with docking clamps left on it.

Anyways. Starting a new save today since the patch is out.

I played .23. Did a quick science mission to Minmus in a cheated career save, just to check out the exact science values. (I don't fully trust the wiki). Used a modified Kerbal X, which I landed on its side, but hey, what works works.

And now I'll have to redo it in .23.5 to see if they've changed any of the values...

MechJeb didn't work after the update, so there was no point in playing the old saves with missions that relied on it. I started a new sandbox game and built a quick rocket.

It was a bit overkill for the 68-tonne payload. My spreadsheet said there would be at least 4900 m/s of delta-v in the lifter stages. In practice, the upper stage had over a quarter of its fuel left after lifting the payload into a 160x120 km orbit.

The days of wobbly rockets are definitely numbered. I only used two struts in this rocket, and it didn't even need stability enhancers at launchpad.

And now that I look at the pictures, I see that I forgot fuel lines from the payload. MechJeb used to catch stupid mistakes like this immediately.

I threw together a ship that could launch 2 orange tanks into LKO with 0 struts. There was some other stuff on the ship too (like a CLAW!) so hopefully it's enough to grab me an asteroid.

And I really mean I threw it together. These new parts are pretty frickin' powerful.

Did recently my most perfect Mün return:

As you can see. No fuel left. Could have saved a bit as I did not need to go that low into the atmosphere. But, I was worried about running out as I had less then half a tank from the T400 tank.
