What did you do in KSP1 today?

I made a space ship using shuttle parts and the new cargo holds. It almost looks like some kind of space ship from a hard sci-fi movie. Once refueled I plan to see if it can get into orbit around the Mun and become a manned station there. I also discovered that IVA does not seem to work with the old shuttle cabin...

Messed around with KAS/OKS/Snacks! in a sandbox game, prepping for my full career game.

Had my station in orbit, and bringing up a brace of 3 kerbals for manning it. For messing with KAS, I didn't put on any RCS but brought up thrusters in containers.

Started my EVA and as expected, entered night. Decided to continue my EVA, since it's a sandbox. I was using the background skybox to determine where I was and what I was doing [1].

Managed to get a couple of RCS thruster blocks attached, but on the 4th, Bill accidentally attached the thruster block to the backside of his helmet. Is it intended for KAS to allow attaching items to kerbals?

With this change in his CoM/MoI, his EVA thrusters started spinning him wildly out of control. By the time I stopped laughing and turned off his thrusters, he was ~500m away and expanding [2].

Jeb jumped out, rendezvoused will Bill, pulled off the RCS thruster and they took turns jetting back to the command pod.

I forgot to add docking ports to the station, and the RCS thruster blocks were imbalanced on the command pod, and I forgot to add separators for the command pod final stage, so when they got within 500m they jetted over to check out the station. Mission success [3]!

[1] Didn't discover until after this escapade that EVA lights are not enabled by the GUI lights button, it uses the L key. Why is that?

[2] I always forget to take screenshots of stressful/funny situations. :(

[3] The station would only consume Snacks, none of the other resources were being used. Is that because I was not using TAC-LS?

I de-crewed then deorbited a scientific station in polar orbit. Was fun doing the double docking - first the crew bus itself came in and picked up the five kerbals aboard, then the service module docked to kick the station out of orbit.

Well, I sent Jeb, Bill, and Bob to Duna. I came in way too fast (4000+ m/s speed coming in), but a suicidal aerobraking maneuver (periapsis of 8700 or so) combined with extra thrust from the nuclear transfer stage managed to get an orbit.

Rescaled this new landing leg and changed its deployment angles, and will push it out with MRS instead of SpaceY. Screenshot shows the LT-2 for size comparison, and you can see that this new leg will handle a mainsail's height.

Oh those will be a welcomed thing for sure, no more building legs out of structural parts. :D I do love the MRS parts, just downloaded them, made an over kill tug that I hope will work out.

how do you build stuff that's already docked to other stuff ?

Put first docking port wherever you want. Rotate second port 180 degrees and put it on attach node of the first port. Be careful with placing, it can attach also to wrong plase (too much overlapped) and then joint does not open.

I managed to solve problems in my hard disk partitions and install Linux Mint today. Next step would be 64 bit installation with Realism overhaul with finest possible graphics.

Added a lot more storage room (yes, those big ones are 5m tanks) and more Karbonite drills to my fuel refinery outside of KSC. It can now be considered as operational and should be able to pump about 25k of liquid fuel and an appropriate ammount of oxidizer every two month into my orbital space station by the click of a button.

Hah, cool. Should try doing it manually though, would make the sense of achievement that much more magical I'd think.

I put the last of my three geostationary relay satellites in Kerbin orbit.

Then did a lucrative KS 25x4 test contract in orbit, for which I built one of the more ridiculous launch crafts I ever made. This short test contract made me a nice 440,000 roots (on 40% income difficulty setting).

At the moment I'm building the launch vehicle for my first base on another celestial body, it will be a Minmus base for a contract that requires space for 14 Kerbals. Kind of a tall order perhaps, since I never ever made a base in this game, but I think it shouldn't be too hard in Minmus' gravity. This will get me enough science to research longer range comms dishes to finally send my first probe outside Kerbin's SOI, namely to EVE.

It's 3:40 am where I live and I have finalized my new Jool-Tour Lander which fits nicely into a Mk3 Cargo Bay and can manage Tylo and Laythe. Fine tuning the descent approach for Tylo was a chore...

Can't wait to try out the entire beast of a mothership with its 14000 m/s of Delta V.

Working on a fuel-tanks pack, so far with several 1.5x "jumbo" tanks in various colors, and fueled nose cones to go with them, and with consistent style with Color Coded Canisters.

Nice! While you can see an image of some of my fueled nose "cones" and translucent fueled adapters, linked in my sig line, I haven't uploaded anything since the move to Cursed. I'm not really against the site, I just seem to lack the time to make more parts and make them available.

Spent most of my day refining a few spaceplanes. 2 Designs are bulletproof now but technical difficulties were encountered along the way.
