mechjeb in 0.20?

I'm trying to play my saved game in .20 but it says i'm missing the mechjeb plugin thingy. I know the part system has been renewed but i don't know if mechjeb 2.0 is compatible with ksp 0.20. and also all my saved ships have a mechjeb unit on them so i can't load most of them without mechjeb

I have 2.0.6 mech jeb working fine, are you sure you installed everything?

didn't work first time for me (neither did the craft load button) so something was properly broken with that install.

re-did the install, didn't alt tab on the loading screen and new 2.0.8 mechjeb running fine

extract the whole of the zip file (inc. mechjeb2 folder) into gamedata, not the parts & plugins

Hopefully not to confuse things further, I downloaded & installed 2.0.8 and put it all in the folders the "old fashioned" way not "gamedata". I haven't done much besides go into orbit and use some maneuvering but it seems to work fine. I also deleted all my mods & parts and did a clean install before installing 2.0.8 because I was having too many mod & plugin conflicts.
