what kind of parts would you guys want? (beyond 0.20)

Science stuff, Damaged parts that can be repaired with kerbal duct tape. And fire/Craters when you crash your rocket.

Maybe resource leak too, like it you puncture a fuel tank, it will slowly leak until it is fixed.

This!

I also want someone to fix the medium lander legs. If you load a craft landed with them they wobble around a ton! :)

Habitation modules (various living quarters, inflatable modules and such, preferably at the same time as we get to move around in IVA), science instruments (that are also useful), antennae that actually do something.

Yeah, I suggested a way to model damage a while back but I think it got eaten by forumocalypse.

Everything would have a rather unique damage model applied to it, and things would no longer 'explode' if they aren't supposed to explode. As items become more damaged they become less reliable and have higher chances of failure.

Fuel tanks could leak, catch fire and burn, fail to pump fuel properly, or violently explode (or, if there's no fuel, just get smashed and become useless).

Engines would lose isp and max thrust, gimbaling might get jammed up in one or more direction or fail completely, it might spontaneously flameout, or it explodes violently.

Should also remove the part where everything explodes, all the time, always. If I smash a lander into the mun, I personally want to see debris strewn across the landscape. Why should all my landing legs and struts explode into a fireball? Something like a monopropellant pod would smash open and leak, but remain intact (and perhaps be recoverable as scrap). Also, when something actually explodes or becomes extremely damaged, it should release generic 'debris' that can be impacted or cause further impacts. For example, if my large RCS tank explodes, it sends a few pieces of 'debris' randomly out, that have a decent chance of hitting other parts of the ship and causing more damage.

If we actually got a decent damage model, where I can smash things into the ground and see all kinds of twisted pieces of my ship left, some maybe intact, some not, I would do nothing but smash **** into the Mun. The Kerbin side would be a god damn graveyard.

- Moving / Folding joints and attachment nodes

- Some Space Station / Base modules besides the Hitchhiker

- Stock payload fairings...if not for the aerodynamics yet, just to make it look cool.

- Inflatable stuff

- Science! Stuff like working antennas, sensors that do more than give a readout, a research system, etc.

I want more spaceplane parts. Specifically, the following:

- Mk. III to 1m tri-coupler adapter

- Mk. III hitchhiker container

- Mk. III fuselage with rocket fuel + oxidizer

- Larger version of spaceplane landing gear

- Standardized wing segments, so they actually fit together properly

- Dedicated flap and airbrake parts to aid with control

Flaps and airbrakes might be a bit difficult, but the rest of these are just more attractive or resized versions of existing parts. I'm mostly interested in Mk. III parts, because they're the closest thing we have to space shuttles but we don't have enough of them yet.

This might be a long shot, but once career mode comes out with a tech tree and some R&D mechanics, I wouldn't want to be forced to use stock parts only (at least not until ClairaLyrae's complete KSPX set, including the unreleased parts become stock).

I'd very much like a quick and easy way to integrate mod parts into the tech tree, whatever it might look like. This means assigning them to a tech tier and giving them a price, monetary or resources.

Sorry if this is too off-topic.

I really want to be able to pick up a rock with a robotic arm or kerbal and do LOTS of science on it. Heck, I really want to have an instrument that shows percentages of each gas in an atmosphere, or the kerbal analogue once we get resource mining and can collect gasses from the atmosphere. I would also like the same for oceans.

Well, three things come to mind:

Firstly, I think an aerodynamic overhaul is pretty much long overdue.

Second, that resource mining system sure is taking one heck of a while.

Thirdly, More IVAs would be nice.

But mechanical parts like free spinning bearings and Canadarm parts would be nice too.

The rest of the KSPX parts over the next few updates.

Also heat sheilds and fairings for re entry and the new aerodynamics.

3.75m and 5m parts at sompoint in the far future. I really want to build the saturn rockets and the SLS without resorting to mods.

And whatever else the guys at squad can come up with. :D

Hey Squad, you obviously heard it dozens of times by now: folks want the complete KSPX pack to become stock. And you obviously know, why you hired Claira into your ranks. :D

PS: Don't forget about the unreleased KSPX parts listed here

Anything that lets me pack and unpack payloads. I hate seeing my rover wheels spinning around as I boost around the solar system. I would want that in a box until it is time to bring it out and deploy it.

You can assign an action group for toggling travel mode on/off, e.g. disabling wheel motors/steering, rover RCS etc.

  • 2 weeks later...

Nuclear reactors. They'd be in different sizes and have different outputs and nuclear fuel consumption, and you should be able to control their output.

Also, something to do with all the electricity it would produce, not to mention all the electricity we can already produce. Parts with high energy consumption would be awesome, mining parts would be an obvious example

Outside of what's been announced as coming, it would be nifty to see some inflatable modules eventually. Placing pressurized living spaces up in space with what amounts to a glorified bouncy castle just seems very Kerbal to me.

This. Very Kerbalike.
