How Many Parts Before YOU Lag?

Well, the first thing I did when 0.20 came out was check if my station still runs like a dead turtle.

Turns out it does. :mad:

Anyway, with the new Kerbal Knowledge Base (Awesome, BTW!), I was able to find out that this station is only 334 parts... yet unplayable for me.

I would like to know how large your stations are before they begin lagging, because I personally would like to know JUST how bad my computer is. :D

Please don't take this as complaining about the patch, really, I'm not. Don't get me wrong, there is a definite improvement, however my station is just too much for my CPU to handle. ;.;

I am currently running a computer built and maintained by the brightest scientific minds of all Kerbal kind. I will now answer your question based on the data I have available to me at this time.

My FPS drops when I load this many parts:

Short answer- 1.0

Long answer - One point zero

My Soyuz replica has 345 parts, and it turns the timer yellow and causes significant slowdowns. However, I still consider the game playable and it's not a horrible framerate in my eyes.

I always get a tad bit of lag around 50 FPS because I can't live without 6 chrome tabs minecraft steam skype fraps hamachi and inevitably a few folders running in the background. I start getting unusual lag around 600-750 parts but im sure i could double that if i closed most of my stuff.

I run full graphics and can manage up to about 800 parts in space before it gets annoying. I have flown something with 986 parts called "The Jellyfish" from launch that my brother came up with. Amazingly it works but at that point I'm doing something like 2-4 fps.

At launch my comfort limit seems to be about 500 parts.
