How Many Parts Before YOU Lag?

I start lag with 300 parts, and get very annoyed with 450-500.

About 400 parts is when it starts to chug for me. All settings are maxed.

Except for right around the launchpad, where I have a few hundred pieces of debris, I can usually do 400 without too much lag. However, I run at near minimum settings.

I haven't made anything large enough to experience any lag. I'm running an AMD FX-6300 at 3.5ghz.

I think 1000, I am not sure, because I never tried it out, but 500 parts went fine.

I can get 500 parts at 60 fps. I haven't tried going any further.

hmm with the latest patch I'm up to over 500 without lag

For me, around 500. I learned this by trying to send something to space with sepratrons.

A lot of lag about 450 parts

Mine slows a bit above 150-200, but is not very noticeable until around 300. Anything above 400 happens frame by frame. Jets, solar panels, and other higher-CPU parts push numbers even further down. (Turionx2 @ 2.2Ghz, 4GB DDR2, Mobility Radeon 3850)

I think you should add a poll to this thread btw, just because graphs are a bit easier to digest.

I found out that slowing down time reduces lag significantly, and now I can fully manage 500 part crafts easily

About 130 parts is when it turns yellow. Remains playable up to about 215 parts. Over that it starts to become impossible to dock or land.
