Take my advice.. learn to actually shoot. If you start relying on ramming, especially in reserve planes, to get kills, you'd better prepare to be disliked by the majority of the playerbase.

I would not expect them to fix that, the minimum requirements say you need a dedicated GPU.

Which is exactly why I might not continue playing if it continues to act out- I can't afford to build a new system at the moment, and laptop GPUs can't be upgraded.

It only happens on certain maps though, making me think it's a software issue that can be fixed. Some maps fly fine, others freak out and lock up. Even a lot of systems with reasonable GPUs in them are affected too.

Just one of those where the developers of this have pushed the stats up so far that systems older than a year or two outright can't run it. My own is just over two years now, and aside from the IGP it was a mid-range model when I picked it out.

Ramming is BAD. People will rage about it. It's understandable when you're learning to fly and caught up in the firefight to the point where you and your opponent run head on into each other frantically shooting, but later on people will complain about it if you do it on purpose.

I dislike rammers too. I don't rely on it, I shoot stuff. I was stating that I ACCEDENTLY ram people, and thats the majority of my air kills lol.

Absolutely nothing at all wrong with ramming. It's just as likely to take out your own plane too, and it's a legitimate tactic in real-life dogfighting as well.

Keep in mind that ramming usually just counts as a crash for both parties rather than as a kill. In fact, someone rammed me from behind earlier today and it actually ended up counting as a kill for me (probably because my rear gunner had nicked him beforehand).

Probably going to spend a fair bit of tomorrow learning all the controls. There used to be a time when I could fly with only the keyboard, but that day seems to be long past (as I've learned from painful experience tonight), and I don't have a decent joystick (though I might grab one after I get my paycheck).

Ah well. Progress is slow but measurable.

So I think my system and connection are conspiring together to absolutely destroy my ability to play this game

The first time I tried to access, I had the "Bad Connection" warning and my plane was practically uncontrollable. The second and third time, crash to desktop. After that, I had a total system crash that forced me to manually reboot my laptop.

I might try again tomorrow, but the prognosis doesn't look pretty.

I understand that this sucks for you but gaming + igp is generally a bad idea. Have you tried the custom graphic settings tab? there are some options for snail computers.

And please dont consider ramming a valid tactic, you get just about no exp/credits and lots of player hate for intentional ramming. But with 15 or 30 fps I understand some of you hit absolutely nothing. I need > 60 for a nice game experience. At least it's better than the 16 fps I usually get.

If your engine goes out and you're lucky, you might be able to glide in to the airstrip for repairs. Otherwise, you're pretty much doomed, but you can still get bonus points for making a soft landing, even if it's just in the middle of a field.

All my soft landings are as a result of crashing into the ground on a strafing run. I also once ripped the wings off my bomber with low level bombings. I actually want to be shot down properly for the fun of it

That would be fun to drive. Will there be players using tanks and aircraft in the same game? That would be disproportion considering they could kill you and you wouldn't be able to do anything about it.

Anti-Aircraft tanks will be available, and there'll probably be some sort of camouflage feature that gives tank players a viable survival rate against planes
