Lazer Cut
So I made this spaceplane SSTO.Indeed it is, indeed it is... How many engines did you need for that? o.o
Fellow314
Been messing around with the B9 pack.6 Kerbals and around 10t of cargo, in this instance a long range transfer vehicle.Javascript is disabled. Pwnstarr
This is KitizenKraft. Just an everyday vehicle a successful Kerbin Kitizen would fly to work for a busy day on the Mun. VTOL as every kerbal nowaday demands. I love the larg sas unit, Great control. "Comes in any Kolor... Spartwo
C'MON! your TWR is 1.12, LIFT OFF!!!
qromodynmc
Testing new designs; As you can see, engine has different angle than the body,I think this helped a bit. everything went great, now it has stable orbit around mun (8k to 7k meters). And enough fuel to burn,130 liquid fuel and much more oxidizer.

Spartwo
If I give the .craft to somebody experienced in cargo SSTOs would they tell me what's wrong with it that it can't gain altitude while a shuttle with 1/3 it's TWR can?
Overfloater
She's a BEAUTY!! What's the payload weight and kerbal crew number?Hahaha thanks... xD I can now confirm that she can put 24 tons on Laythe. I suspect she can lift more, but I just don't make intentionally heavy payloads.I think I have overdone with the control surfaces, as she has the tendency to wiggle like a mad sausage. But who cares! I got my stuff to Laythe ...muhahahahaha... B^)For some reason, she looks familiar...... =DHmm... are you suggesting that she looks almost as cool as one of THOSE super-cool ships? O_OOr maybe some sort of a hybrid between my Astroliner V and the Falcon X... x^b***** the bed! What's the part count on that beast?:^( Many. 838 by itself, 1000+something with my payload.......On another note, I have made a non-atomic, (virtually)non-part-clippy plane that lands on the Mun (therefore definitely on Minmus as well). The nature-friendly Mantacruiser:buuut... because the placement of the rocket motor the jet stage is hard to control. I have put the jet slightly below the center line, but that created a mess of it's own...Still, that's something...!If I give the .craft to somebody experienced in cargo SSTOs would they tell me what's wrong with it that it can't gain altitude while a shuttle with 1/3 it's TWR can?Want me to try? Edited May 9, 2014 by Overfloater I dunno... :^
anonymousgamer
This SSTO I have can't go anywhere but orbit without refueling and it doesn't carry cargo. But I still love it.On takeoff (and obviously when completely fueled) it weighs 1791.35 tons.

O-Doc
Nice one Overfloater, that's some sweet metal right there. I get wiggling on mine because I mount the cockpit on a docking port for orbital shuttling. But, they fly nice without SAS. I'm going to guess you're wiggle comes from control surfaces too close to your CoM. I've found that control surfaces between CoM and CoL does evil things to your craft when in SAS. You shouldn't do it anyway but, it's good to experiment.Spartwo, you wanna put up your craft file?
Rune
Of the last post I made, the numbers on the first one are completely off in respect to rocket power. Turns out when you change modes on one rapier it doesn't change on the other, even when placed with symmetry, so that design is a fail. It was too good to be true This one, however, does what I advertised the other did, minus the passenger and KAS goodies. And I think it looks better:Rune. There is a RAPIER somewhere in there to give it Duna-rated rocket power.
SofusRud
Here's an SSTO I whipped up that has no rocket engines or RAPIERS, just a Turbojet and some RCS thrusters. It is a testament to what can be accomplished with the power of, or in spite of, a few drinks. lunait
I have to ask, why didn't you use the b9 SABRE engines in place of the rapiers?I don't know, I like the RAPIERs better I guess. Feel free to change them to SABREs if you want.
nli2work
KSOI Cerberus... mostly designed for the looks, but very serviceable as well. ~200km Orbit, maybe higher. Some air hogging, being it's all stock parts, 77 count. Tested with FAR.Craft file Edited May 11, 2014 by nli2work

TeeGee
I've made the engine block and fuselage modular, so I can grab it from subassemblies and attach it to anything I want. This craft also uses my turbofan+LV-N config. I think she has about 3,000 delta v fully fueled.
SofusRud
I finally got it to work! I give you: Kylon.19 tons to orbit! my personal record for an SSTOThe rest of the details here: http://forum.kerbalspaceprogram.com/threads/79535-The-Kylon-my-best-high-capacity-SSTO-so-far
Overfloater
I get wiggling on mine because I mount the cockpit on a docking port for orbital shuttling. But, they fly nice without SAS. Oh no it's not that sort of wiggleI'm going to guess you're wiggle comes from control surfaces too close to your CoM. I've found that control surfaces between CoM and CoL does evil things to your craft when in SAS. You shouldn't do it anyway but, it's good to experiment.Yeah that's the one! the SAS one! But the problem is I constructed the controls in a way that forces the ship to naturally pull up, and when empty, I needed the SAS to help it pull down! Now the controls near CoM is an interesting theory, I should look into this. Thank you very much for the tip x-D
