Now it all makes sense, the kermans replicate (in whatever way they do) sign their health ensurance policy and jump into suicidal rockets with a smile. (Helping family is important for Kerbals)

Lets just hope their ensurance scam wont be noticed anytime soon :S

I'm beginning to believe Kerbals reproduce by induced fission, the energy for which is impart by a sufficiently energetic external force. In other words, blow the little buggers up and you get a whole lot more Kerbals. I eagerly await your "big bang" jokes. :D

...hence the term "population explosion". They are a lot like Gremlins in that regard.

I am surprised no one recognized that astronaut, so far, I mean. Hint: He was involved with SKYLAB :D

I do! But then, my dad worked on Skylab (the ATM portion) so I thought it unfair of me to answer. :)

You think it's possible....nah...I always thought that "Kerbal" was a spanish word, until I realized that Felipe is actually half Italian, half Brazilian(?).

And I think it's awesome to have a family member having previously worked on historical spacecraft. You sir, are cool :D

Cool? Thanks, but my wife would be quick to tell you otherwise! :D

I was fortunate. My dad was with NASA from Explorer 1 to the Hubble Space Telescope. Lots of rich history there, and I'm glad I was able to witness a large portion of it.

Very fortunate! In my case I was about 8 years old when I became hooked. Around Gemini 8 or so. I went on to find out that my friend Gary's dad was also a NASA engineer! He gave us a list of Space Centers around the nation, there were a heck of a lot more back then, and told us to send a letter to each and request further information about the space program. And boy, did they!

Didn't last forever though. Eventually the materials were no longer free and could only be obtained at a cost through the US Superintendent of Documents.

But back in the day, young minds were stimulated. For free!

Yes, Joe's picture was one of the things I got along with tech specs, mission docs, posters, photos, name it!
