Arrowstar
Hi everyone! I'm happy to announce the release of KSP Trajectory Optimization Tool v1.5.1! This release has been a long time coming with the last previous release occurring last year. The main purpose of this release is KSP 1.1.x compatibility with the KSPTOTConnect plugin. Other bug fixes are present in the code too, both in the KSPTOTConnect code and in the standalone MATLAB-based code. The download link is present in the first post of this thread. Follow the download instructions to install. If you're coming from KSPTOT v1.5.1, all you need to do is replace the KSPTOTConnect plugin and then replace the KSPTOT *.exe file and associated files. Please let me know if you find any bugs or issues. Happy orbiting!
funkcanna
Hi @Arrowstar , thanks for this! The tutorial link on the first page however seems to point to the wrong place!
DivisionByZero
I just downloaded the latest version. It seems to be working with the x64 version. I've successfully pulled data and pushed a maneuver. I'll keep working with it and let you know if there's a problem. As someone who's worked with Matlab and variants: very nicely done on this whole tool! dlrk
On the latest release, when I try to add a constraint in the optimizer, I get a ping/beep(whatever you call the sound Windows makes it won't do what you want) when I click save and close. The prerelease works fine Edited May 11, 2016 by dlrk

Congrats on the new release! Uncharted 4 came out this week on PS4 so I've been playing once again through the whole series and now I'm working through 4. Then a business trip next week, and of course I'm not actually playing KSP right now while I get things lined up for a roleplay reboot... don't worry tho I'll be back to submitting bug reports soon
Ixenzo
It seems that I'm unable to add any constraints in MO at all. Clicking Save and Exit in the constraint window visually presses the button but does nothing. I just downloaded this tool, so maybe there is something I missed in the tutorial? Gordon Dry
When creating a new bodies.ini with RSS I recognized that TOT doesn't like RSS Extrasolar, but I could just delete these entries (Tau Ceti and HD 10180 and Sagittarius A). I'll fix this for next time. Thanks for the report! EDIT: So there were a number of problems: spaces, special characters in names, etc. I think I have a fix for next version, but in the mean time, you can just go through the bodies.ini file and either remove what you don't need or make sure that all the names of bodies are strictly numbers and letters without special characters or spaces. If you change the name of a body, make sure you update parent name on all its children to match the new name. I get to the point where you have a collision trajectory with the target planet, i.e. MO without constraints works fine. The next step is to optimize the trajectory with added constraints and none of them respond to Save and Exit. I can interact with the constraint window fine, it just looks like the Save and Exit button doesn't do anything.

Can you show me that? EDIT: Can I also get the .mat file at the point the error is occurring? Edited May 11, 2016 by Arrowstar
DivisionByZero
I'm having similar issue. If I create a new mission and then try to add an optimization constraint, the "save and exit" button does nothing. I'll try and construct a "simple-as-possible" mission for you. I also have the previous release handy so I can give it a whirl to see if the same steps work in that.

DivisionByZero
Files first: Bodies.ini (I use Outer planets, but I doubt that has anything to do with this... just in case) https://drive.google.com/open?id=0B4eYnzGzsL8JT3ZpaVluRzV4MnM ksptot.log (there's only one line) https://drive.google.com/open?id=0B4eYnzGzsL8JTDh2a0pQRk1mTWc Test_DunaFlyBy.mat https://drive.google.com/open?id=0B4eYnzGzsL8JVUZ0MHNMeDBrOE0 Reproduction: Load up the file in Mission Achitect. Open up optimization. The only optimization events should be the second "Coast" to a correction burn and the Correction burn itself. I leave the objective function on Distance to Body, select event 6: Coast to Duna as the applicable event and the applicable body is Duna. I then choose the optimization constraint "Radius of Periapsis" with the right arrow. It opens up the dialog box. I enter 50km lower bound, 100km upper bound, Duna as the celestial body and the applicable event is still Event 6: Coast to Duna. I then click "Save and Close" at which point Windows beeps at me and the window fails to close. Clicking the "X" to close the window manually shows that the constraint is not added. Note: I built this mission in the last release version of KSPTOT. In that version, I can add constraints just fine.

Arrowstar
Hi everyone, I've just uploaded KSPTOT v1.5.2, which I believe should fix the issue with creating constraints in Mission Architect's Mission Optimizer. Please download from the OP and let me know if everything is working as intended. I will have the thread updated in short order here. Thanks! KocLobster
@Arrowstar Any chance you could include a changelog in the main KSPTOT download? Or at the very least, an identification of what version has been downloaded? As far as I can tell, there is no currently easy way to tell what version I've downloaded, or that the OP pointed to the right file, or that I did actually receive the file I intended to get. I always like to be able to double check that what I have downloaded is what I actually meant to download.
blu3wolf
1.5.2 doesnt have the cool icon that 1.5.1 and 1.5.0 did though :/ Actually, what is really weird is that the icon displayed next to the file itself is different (something very generic), but the preview image displayed next to the title in the W7 info bar at the bottom of the explorer window is actually correct. The icon displayed at the left of the TOT window itself, is still the 3D graph icon, too. Edited May 13, 2016 by blu3wolf
Ixenzo
This is an incredible tool with so many possibilities... And once again I question myself why didn't I check it out sooner. Thank you for your effort!
dlrk
Arrowstar, This might be more of a general question than a KSPTOT question, but is there a way to (using the optimizer or otherwise) calculate a maneveur to an orbit, that will at some point overfly a lat/lon? I unserstand using the optimizer to put an apsis over a point, but what about creating an orbit that simply overflies a point at some point? Epox75
Hello! I'm having a problem since the release of 1.5.2. I use Outer Planets Mod and Transkeptunian Object. When I try to load the bodies file I have created with ksp tot connect the bodies loading freezes and I hear a warning sound but not message and the loading stops at 10/1230. Here's the Ksptot.log: Spoiler Error using & Matrix dimensions must agree. Error in processINIBodyInfo>findRow (line 87) Error in processINIBodyInfo>createCurveFitFromRows (line 61) Error in processINIBodyInfo (line 17) Error in mainGUI>loadBodiesFromFile_Callback (line 571) Error in gui_mainfcn (line 95) Error in mainGUI (line 42) Error in @(hObject,eventdata)mainGUI('loadBodiesFromFile_Callback',hObject,eventdata,guidata(hObject)) Error while evaluating Menu Callback Error writing to output stream. The version 1.5.1 doesn't give me this problem. Thanks for making such a great tool! Regards, Epox
