Definitely not a rumor thread

You CAN announce it--you can just place CLASSIFIED INFORMATION to let people know it's not for public consumption, but as a checklist item, it's fine to place it--It's that simple. I mean KSP servers is not exactly the Pentagon or Langley database/archives.

First of all, do you even know what classified information means? It's a word usually that is used for secret type of information. Some type of information that needs to be withheld. Why would security updates be withheld information? If they where working on security, I think we would want to know, since it's our information that is being secured. No reason to say that is classified information. Example, windows releases security updates and announces it separate then their usual updates. They even have a separate name called "Security Updates." How happy do you think people would be if they where to all of a sudden call it classified information and not tell you what is going on? Again, it's YOUR information at risk. Security updates better well not be classified, other wise then I would be worried.

Second, I never SAID it CAN'T be announced .. maybe you need to learn to read? I said it usually is not announced in the way it was. That is a very huge difference then what you said I said >.>.

All I meant by that was it's unlikely to do with the Security issue as they already announced info about that, it be stupid to all of a sudden make it classified information. Makes no sense.

Actually, I would not announce a security update that was being worked on, if a problem was found that was not yet publicly known. Simply announcing it would potentially cause hackers to start looking, increasing the risk of a breach. Of course once you fix it, then you blow your horn about it.

Having said all that, I also don't think this is what was "Classified information". No idea what it is, but security seems unlikely.

I didn't say you would announce the specifics XD. You would just simply say "Working on security updates." That doesn't give any hacker reason to start looking. If a hacker is going to look they will do it with or with out knowing if they are being worked on. Security is always an issue. There is never something that is 100% secure. So why would it be necessary for a hacker to first hear they are working on security updates for them to decide to hack?

Actually you would find the complete opposite. If you don't hear anything about security, hackers tend to try even more because then they assume the sites security is low. It's like going to a mall with out security. If someone doesn't see them, they are more likely to steal. If you see security around, a person is less likely to steal.

Um, new optimization, maybe?

Optimization is part of the game, so technically content (if only code-based), plus the devs are saving that until it's almost time for KSP 1.0.0, so it's ruled out pretty effectively.

Spaceport in-game would make some level of sense. Unity doesn't have native webpage parsing systems, so it needs code to be able to do that so that pages can be viewed in-game. Of course, we might not be seeing a strict webpage in KSP, so maybe a new Spaceport site that's set up so that the game can access downloads and addon previews easily and efficiently, making a game-integrated Spaceport practical...

Still, it's CLASSIFIED INFORMATION, so we won't know until it's public...

I hate multiplayer and hope it's never part of the game. There's nothing I like less than a squeaky 12 year old telling me how bad I am at something.

If they do include multiplayer I hope it includes a way to punch someone in the bean bag through the internet.

Maybe it is classified information, as in a option for the missions for your Kerbals to have classified instructions i.e "Build A ship and get at lest 2000DV into an orbit of between 80-100kms.. then open your instructions" awesome idea for random missions.. repeat the mission? The instructions might be different.

My view is it must be something new and exciting, something self contained, and something that they havent said they are planning to do that they want to come as a surprise. It would have to be something really neat.

My guess would be a full set of reusable spaceship parts, or planetary clouds/upgrading all the terrain of the planets, or better drag/atmospherics. Either of these would be really neat and would affect the basic game quite a bit, although the latter would have by far the biggest effect on the whole playability of the game IMO so thats my guess.

Fully automatic integration of Spaceport mods in the game would also be fantastic - rather than having to faff around with files. But would probably require stripping everything off Spaceport, and then having someone carefully control what went back on to ensure it was compatible with the game filing system - a big job probably. But worth it.

This game relies so heavily on mods it is something that is badly needed. To be able to activate a mod and then deactivate it again with a single click would be amazing! The Darth Mods for the Total War games now allow that and its great, very user friendly.
