Also, I'd like to say to all MechJeb users flying the Atlas V 551 and can't stop it from veering of course with MJ, what you have to do is this.

1. ASAS on, no MJ though.

2. Launch

3. When SRBs run out, decouple them and turn on MJ.

4. ???

5. Profit.

Remember that Stack I posted on page 1? I finally sent that Münwards warped past my encounter ran out of fuel, so I hyperedited it into Mün orbit and deployed/landed the lander. Now I'll try to send up the longevity module to the back of the orbiter sat to allow it to stay longer.

I think he won't. Tiberion, as many people, used the forum wipe as a reason to leave the project without giving any news.

Well not intentionally, though that thread isn't too easy to find now. Been really busy and wasn't having much luck with the modeling; but I wrote more about that in the ISS thread.

Anyway, the ULA rockets are looking nice guys. Good work!

Means a lot coming from someone like you. I learned to play this game with some of your stuff. Appreciate the thought.

Just saw it. Good to hear news about you :)

Yes it is actually right now. I am changing all the textures over to the new standard on the Delta IV. I am adding the small sized GEM. I fixed the interstage (hotfix later today) and and adding BossSquirelz Delta II to the pack with his permission. Sorry for the wait guys. IRL has been an amazing two weeks with too little time for KSP dev work. I also spent a bit of it trying to do the Heat 1X for my Copenhagen Suborbitals pack. Chimer 4 is also working on it to my understanding. I still an a little new to normal/bump mapping and am trying to straighten out that mess. My UV maps were too bonkers for me to even try it until I re unwrapped everything. I am also improving the texture resolutions so you can't see pixels. ;)

Carry on.

I haven't used this mod until today and I have to say that it's very useful and the rockets work great. Your Delta IV works flawlessly so far, so does Chimer's Atlas V and BossSquirrelz's Delta II. I have to mark this a Grade 'A' KSP mod, keep up the good work.

Well, I wouldn't say that my parts work flawlessly :P anyway, I am slowly working on an overhaul for the Atlas, but I've been busy lately, and I've been taking advantage of the fact that Britain has nice weather fir a change :D and by that I mean going down to the pub and having an ice cold cider in the sun :)

  • 3 weeks later...

Ok guys, here it is, the updated version of the Atlas V. Get the updated files now. Click for either .zip or .rar format.

Please delete all old Atlas V parts prior to installation.

The pack is structured in 0.2x format and is in the same structure as the rest of the ULA pack so you can just copy it over.

Changelog

VERSION 2.0 RC2

  • Complete overhaul of every part of the Atlas V, apart from the Centaur forward adapter. Models and textures have both been massively improved
  • Rebalanced all parts, the CCB no longer weighs about as much as the Mun
  • Added roll torque to the Centaur forward adapter to try and combat the roll that was experienced by some, however due to the
unbalanced nature of the rocket setup, and the new 'soft' ASAS, it doesn't completely solve the problem
  • CCB no longer causes lag when moving inside the VAB, and on going the launch pad
  • Added Dual Engine Centaur
  • Added a small bio to each pre built craft
  • Added retro rockets that can be attached to the CCB to aid in booster separation
  • Slightly angled the SRB thrust so that they now fire through the center of mass, although some slippage may still occur

That looks awesome. Lots of work but it looks much better and hopefully has ironed a lot of the niggles out :)

Looking at your screenshots you could maybe use a wee bit more fairing separation force, they look a little close to the main-stage for comfort :)

I'm working on a couple of things for fairing separation, going to if I can add some small weak solid rockets to them to try and mimic the pyros firing. I have upped the decoupler force a bit, but it looks quite close simply because I was accelerating very fast, going almost 2km/s when I fired them do they didn't have much chance to get out the way :D

Seconded, what is being worked on its been quite silent the last few months.

Imm currently waiting for a minmus launch window for a probe that will be launched on a 542, I'll get back to y'all with pics as soon as I run it.

Erm, you mean 541? The Atlas V configs are 401 for 0 SRB's, 411 for 1, 421 for 2, etc... The same applies for the 500 series, it is relative to the amount of boosters, there is no 542.

This thread is quite old. Please consider starting a new thread rather than reviving this one.
