What music do you listen to?

As long as it is played by musicians on music instruments. There are certain genres I prefer over others but since my work in a music venue I've come to love most of the genres.

My biggest genres are country, blues and metal, because guitars are manly! In my spare time I organize metal concerts in the venue I work at. All you Dutch metal lovers should two explanations are offered, one must discard the one that explains

the least, or explains nothing at all, or raises more questions than it

answers.'> check out my metal foundation I use to organize it all with.

A Thousand Suns is my favourite album of all time. You really have to listen to it all and not just bits here and there to see how great it is.

Yeah, when they released it, I remember that you could get a 45 minute untracked version of the album. It really does work as a concept album with no breaks; one of the few that does. I do find that though I really like the quotes from King and Oppenheimer and Mario Savio, they get a bit old after many repeated listenings.

Yeah, I had preordered the album and I think I still have that full track on my old HD. I also saw them live a few months after and the full live recording was available for download for free for those who were there, by far the best live recording I have.

And yeah, the quotes can become repetitive when you listen to the album a lot, though I never have the heart to skip them :P

My favorite linkin Park album is Hybrid theory. By far.

It's indeed awesome, I have all physical copies of all their albums on my desk :) I drop them once in a while in my car.

My FAVORITE band is Hoobastank.

Saw Hoobastank live with Incubus in Boston a couple weeks after 9/11/01. Their first album hadn't dropped yet and they were handing out free singles to generate interest. (I think I still have one somewhere.) I was really impressed with their live show.

Really? That's awesome! Literally only one other person at my school of 3000+ listens to them :P

in general, my music look like this :

Daft punk (the one called Discovery, I don't realy like the new one)

Video game music (and all the things that come with it)

I also like classical and it's great for KSP, like Also Sprach Zarathustra

Still, I'm more into electro that anything else, (but I like every type of music almost equaly).

(I also found some music from a certain WoodenToaster not bad at all, through it's inspired by MLP)

Primarily, I listen to alternative, rock, indie rock, and genres along those lines, so bands like:

Muse

Red Hot Chilli Peppers

Foo Fighters

The Darkness

The Offspring

Linkin Park

Lostprophets

Paramore (BUT only their older stuff. Their new stuff is not even remotely alternative, it's pop :()

Queen

Fleetwood Mac

etc.

I'm going out with a girl tomorrow and, amongst other things, I intend to find out what bands she likes (I'm a bit oblivious as to what's out there...), because she does have very similar musical tastes to me, and I want moar music :D

However, I also have a few soundtracks:

Mass Effect 2 and 3 (I should really get ME1, too...)

Star Trek (2009)

Requiem for a Dream (quite unusual at times, but also interesting).

It's true what they say about music with no lyrics; it really does get you thinking. Soundtracks are probably some of the best bits of music you can get. Games, films; if they have good soundtracks, you will enjoy them.

Halo has some of the best music in gaming, in my opinion, and it's looking like Star Citizen is going to have a completely epic soundtrack, based upon the launcher music for the Hangar Module. Of course, there are many other games for which the music is brilliant, but these sprang to mind first, so...

I should get more soundtracks, really. Hmm.

I also have, for when I'm feeling like I neeeeeed relaxing music, one album by Russell Watson. However, on said album, there is one song... a little song that goes like this:

It's actually called 'Where my heart will take me', not 'Faith of the heart', but I can understand the confusion.

--------------------

Can't be doing with any of this modern pop...stuff. A lot of it can't even be classed as music... more like an irritating cacophony of noise...ugh...

I always liked this combined with SpaceX's stuff. Cool music with a cool video.

Requiem for a Dream (quite unusual at times, but also interesting).

You have excellent taste. :) Lux Aeterna is awesome.

Also, Foxes:

I was like Ehhh at first, but I love this!
