Suggest IRL Satellites! (Pic heavy)

I have played KSP for over 450 hours now, and I need ideas.

My space Program, The United Kingdom Of Kerbin Space Agency, has over 25 flights in progress, all replicas of real life satellite programmes. I want you guys to suggest ideas for more satellites that aren't incredibly difficult to replicate.

Craft Files!

I have now released the craft files for selected satellites!

(P.S mods please move this if this is in the wrong place, I saw the phrase "tell us about your missions" so...yeah)

Well, you are using mods, which makes it a whole lot easier to replicate real-world craft. No offense.

None taken! Anyway replicas of real-world craft are close to impossible with the tiny probe parts of the stock game. BTW here's all the launch vehicles I have at my disposal using said mods:

Atlas-V (All variants + Dual Engine Centaur)

Atlas A-H(+centaur)

Ariane 4

Ariane 5

M-V2

Epsilon

H-IIA

H-IIB

Athena-1

Athena-2

Delta-II

Soyuz-ST

Proton-M

Buran

Europa

Vega

Falcon-1

Falcon-9 (all variants)

Falcon-Heavy

Most of the Titan launchers

Saturn V (I know, it only launched apollo and skylab)

Saturn-1B ( I know, apollo only)

Some domestically developed launchers, mostly KW rockets.

If you really want a challenge, try to replicate the TanDEM X Mission of the german aerospace center

These are two identical satellites flying in a helix formation with currently just 150 meters between them.

Both of them have to go over the poles, so while flying parallel at the equator, they fly on top of each other over the poles. Because the altitude for the satellite above is just a bit higher, it's a bit slower and is overtaken by the lower one. If watched from the side, it would look like they fly in circels around eachother.

For more information (and videos) you can google for TanDEM X, TerraSAR X and of course DLR (Deutsche Luft- & Raumfahrt, which is the German Aerospace Center)

Why you still using KerbX, LazTek is much better.

My suggestions would be:

* The Voyager probes (they're the iconic satelites!)

* Hayabusa

* Kaguya/SELENE

* New Horizons

Voyager is coming up, along with the Titan-IIIC. On Hayabusa, Dres or Eeloo? New horizons is terrifyingly difficult to recreate because of it's piano shape. i might try SELENE after some research.

I am now working on a new mission!

This one is the Venus (Eve) Express orbiter. This mission is perfect because it uses a launcher that I already posess, the Soyuz-FG/Fregat. As part of a build up set of missions that I like to do before sending orbiters, I am also sending a replica of the pioneer Venus orbiter and the magellan orbiter.

Here's the Eve Express orbiter:

Here's the Pioneer:

Here's the Magellan:

Have you thought about recreating any of the Venera or Vega missions? (Though I'm not sure the balloons would work correctly, the way atmospherics, craft interactions, and loading distances work in this game.)

Venera...Maybe, although I will not be accurate and I won't shut it down after 90 minutes because of failure.

Vega...Maybe when a mod to supply some much needed parts comes around.
