EVA Precision Controls via CAPSLOCK

Recommended Posts

Using WASDQE keys to control the Kerbalnaut on EVA is jerky. It is highly dependent upon how quickly you can click and release the keys.

Provide precision control, similar to RCS. Thus. When the Kerbalnaut is on EVA, pushing the CAPSLOCK key sets precision control. Pushing the key again returns to normal mode.

This ought not be difficult to implement.

Such a useful reply. In-depth. Concise. Truly, a master communicator.

Or, perhaps you are illiterate, given that I stated the reason in the first paragraph. Are you literate? If not, find an adult to read and explain it to you.

In case you didn't notice, this is a Suggestion.

You are so rude...

In Case you didn't notice he just asked why would you need it? Whats the point of positioning kerbals pixel accurate?

I don't see the point either.

PS: I don't think you should insult Boex for being brave enough to reply...

Why...? Most people cope perfectly fine...what possible reason do you need this for?

Just because some (at this point in time) unspecified amount of people can cope with it, doesn't mean everyone should. Besides, you agree there is an issue, if you use the word "cope", and issues should be resolved, minor or otherwise.

I agree, as the backpack has quite a limited amount of RCS fuel, you should get the option of spending it wisely, so have more control over it. It's wasted fuel if you have to spend to correct for previously spent fuel, and it could be limited with this, and safe quite a lot green guys.

Also, I remember seeing this before, so I've linked this thread to a new category Kerbals -> EVA fine controls in the already suggested list

I suggest you link to the original discussion instead. It had a lot more debate and viewpoints, and a lot less bickering.

The thing about EVA that is far more annoying than the course-grain control is the locked orientations that make no sense. You can adjust the yaw angle but not the pitch angle, making it necessary to head for crew hatches head-first or foot-first in a lot of cases.

Yep, useful for extreme EVA rendezvous. On which note, bring back EVA control in the map screen, or at least make control toggleable in the same way the navball functions as a control toggle for ships.
