Hi BahamutoD, I'm currently building something similar to your lander design, and was wondering if it would be better/easier to build the central unit with built in engines, and radially fit legs, or with ingegral legs, and radial engines.

I'm asking for general feedback on my thread, but I wanted your advice.

In my opinion, integrated legs and engine mounts makes more sense because you might want to use different types of engines for different gravities or whatever, but theres no real reason to have different types of legs.

That should be fairly simple, though. AFAIK, 0.23 only really broke plugins while leaving parts mods relatively intact.

Can anyone confirm that the shielded SR. docking port actually works in 0.23?? I tried the open version but it doesn't want to dock to either other Shielded SR.'s or the regular Sr. Docking port.....

Edit: Okay after adding in the tech integration to the 2 closed ports and comparing them to the open, I discovered the open port has some really weird configuration concerning the docking module. By replacing it with the module from the closed ports and leaving the animation part untouched I've fix the open ports so it actually docks properly with mechjeb, not sure if it worked manually before. I'm horrible at docking manually....

Edit2: Okay, after actually launching a tank equipped with these it refuses to be considered a docking port when it's attached to anything, it only sees it as one when the part is on it's own. Ugh, pain in the neck.....

Hey, great parts. One question, can you make the things inside the hollow fairings shield inside parts when using FAR? Nothke did something similar with his service fairings.

A request though, in the fully recoverable rocket video in the OP, the second piece of the rocket to drop uses the shielded docking port for reentry then flips around and uses its recessed engines to land. I think it would be awesome to have a part similar to the shielded docking port, but without the port, so that you could essentially have a set of doors covering the engine. That way, the stage reenters with the closed doors acting as a heatshield and then the doors open allowing the engine to fire.

Also, any chance of configuring it so the heatshield actually works with Deadly Reentry..?

Hey everyone. Sorry I haven't been active on this thread. I've started new projects including a part pack and haven't looked back at these parts in a while. I may come back to these parts eventually, and will probably post new versions and new parts in the release forum some time in the future. I'll take your comments into account when working on the new project. Thanks!

Mk1-2 Propulsion System is really excellent thing.

Unfortunetly it topples over a lot

Do you plan to add hydraulic gear? It woudl partially reduce this issue.

Great mods, aspecially the dockable fairings. Though I found a bug in the 1.25 docking ring. In the part.cfg in moduledockingnode the nodetype should be size1, otherwise it wont be able to dock withe the other 1.25 dockable fairings.

I haven't touched these since November last year, but they should still work. I'm busy with other things but whenever I get to continue working on my part pack, I'll have updated versions of the docking rings, and maybe others. No promises or ETA's though.

I know I had to edit the part.cfg's to get them to show up in the tech tree in career mode. Haven't had a chance to put them through their paces yet though
