What will I do? Hah! Silly question.

As for those who ask, why? and what for? and is it really just for acquiring new parts in career mode?, the answer is: fill in the blanks yourselves. A great part of KSP is about imagination, and imagination will be key to what is to be discovered in the Kerbin Solar System. I imagine Squad may very well in time give us actual things to discover that we can use, but for now with .22 we will just have to fill in the blanks ourselves. If we didn't have imagination with this game, then it would have been very boring before the Mun was even put into the game. Keep in mind that players established orbit before there was a map function(some still do without touching the map). Players were achieving rendezvous before there was mechjeb and navigation functions were around(I wouldn't be surprised that some still do). Taking what we have and making more of it is what can be done. Reach beyond what you are given, and the achievement will be all the richer.

If I may offer a suggestion, watch or read The Andromeda Strain by Michael Crichton sometime. That may get the ideas boiling and help stress the importance of landing craft near KSC.

To the thread topic: I will probably add a Science Module (maybe with the FusTek laboratory as main part - can mod parts become science parts?) to my station, and a science part to every new probe/rover/lander. Vessels mainly used for Transportation (Crew to LKO and similar stuff) won't get science parts.

I plan on adding laboratory capability to my existing stations, and probably building dedicated orbital scientific platforms. I will launch survey expeditions to Mün and Minmus and this will probably be the thing that gets me to start looking into interplanetary missions.

I thought about it a bit more and I think sampling eve and jool's atmosphere will be a top priority. Maybe send one through multiple aerobrakes to collect samples and try to return some if possible.

Create a new game and start over using pre-tested designs and make the new parts become a standard feature on all craft. First will be the 1000 probes/rovers that will hit every planet and Mün out there, even Kerbin. Before sending out manned Kerbal crafts.

What if you don't want your screenshots folder constantly being added to mysteriously? And manually is basically exactly the same as it is with some camera positioning.

That's what options are for, s you can turn it on and off.

It's not the same as camera positioning. You can never position the camera in the same direction manually.

This is actually a great idea. Making lots of detachable units and just throw them around.

Not a lot, as it seems to need Kerbals. I like my space probes to be unmanned.
