Best Mods Ever!! (imo =P)

KW Rocketry

Kethane

HydroTech (a GREAT mod that gets alot less attention from the community than it should)

KAS

Everything else I use I could happily play without.....but those four mods are stock for me so to speak.

Mods I wont use even if ya PAID me to:

B9 Aerospace

HyperEdit (good for testing, but waaaay to buggy)

KSP intersteller

and anything that generates fuel with no work involved.....

Mods I have and love:

-Kerbal Engineer: very useful craft and flight statistics

-RLA Stockalike: fits well with stock parts, nice addition to the game

-Kethane: adds a whole new part to the game with discovering and retrieving resources

-Procedural Fairings: great for making ships look better

-Universe Replacer: makes the game beautiful

-Docking Alignment indicator: useful for docking

-steam guages: nice visual displays

-KSPX: what's left

-Chatterer: nice sounds that add atmosphere

-SelectRoot: sooooo useful

Other good mods I have looked in to that can be considered (not really must-haves IMO)

-AIES Aerospace: great looking rocketry and probe parts

-KW Rocketry: expansive launcher parts pack

-NovaPunch: large parts pack consolidation

-MechJeb: useful data and automated flight

-Kosmos: good looking station parts

-Fustek (and expansion): more cool station parts

-B9 Aerospace: great pack for planes

Making life a lot easier in KSP:

  • Navyfish' Docking Port Indicator. I can now dock an orange tank with RCS thruster placed at one end. In ten minutes. I'd cry if that one goes away
  • MechJeb. I hardly use MJ for autopilot stuff (launching isn't that big of a deal, and most of my launch vehicles require special attention that MJ doesn't understand anyway, and docking... don't get me started on docking). But Surface & Orbit data sure come in handy and I love love love the menial work Smartass does for me.
  • Alarmclock. I feel pity for those that do not use alarmclock, but I cannot respect them.

Then there's the stuff that just looks good:

  • The universe replacer. This should be standard in KSP.
  • Procedural fairings

Outside that I'm pretty much stock, I'm afraid. Not that I'm a hardcore purist... just too lazy to explore other addons :D

Kerbal Alarm Clock. I make a big deal of being able to play stock (this is so I can dig my hands into a new release as soon as possible) but it's been impossible to play at all now without KAC, thanks to the massive number of ships, probes and stations that I usually move at once.

Kethane, TAC Life Support, Deadly Reentry, FAR. Never leave home without 'em. As for parts, I'm really fond of Near Future Propulsion, the SDHI service module system, and Home Grown Rockets. KW Rocketry is also a must for its fairings and engine options.

My favourites are mods that add atmospheric depth to the game. Visual Enhancements, TextureReplacer, Chatterer, Hot Rockets, Bobcat's soviet and FASA's American ships all add depth and immersion. They inspired me to make the custom suits after all...

Best mod is Active Texture Management by rbray89. This makes it possible to run more than a hand full of mods! currently 60 add on folders in Game Data plus squad :P
