What are you missing in KSP?

When I started Playing KSP I was using a lot of mods. But now I play almost without mods.

A short list what I was missing:

parts: back then I was missing parts for rovers, pods, engines... but they added a lot of cool parts since then

crew: I used a mod to add additional crew to my rockets, but that's stock now

A list what I am still missing: (I know there are mods for a lot of these things)

parts: sidemounted tanks with decouplers included, ion thrusters (rcs like)

better sas control: not just lock to curent orientation. Like the smart sas window from mechjeb: prograde, retrograde,target...

ET Mining: The devs stated that they will include ET mining

more to explore on kerbin: citys ...

Storry mode: including sample colection ... (we are waiting :-P It would be a huge boost, since KSP wouldn't only be a sandboxgame anymore)

Life support: so manned missions are harder than probe missions and spacestations need supply

so what are you still missing in stock ksp?

I'm pretty happy with the game, and how its progressing.

Really looking forward to Career Mode with set goals and budgets to do them etc.

The biggest issue I have with this game is performance. Basically the limitations of the engine.

Otherwise, game is awesome and continues to get better.

I am still quite the Rookie yet. But for me, not enough command module's at all. So, tonight I will be combing the mod site and looking for a mod pack of parts to add. That Mech Jeb I got last night, wowser!! After watching 2 auto launch's I was able on my 3rd attempt to launch a 100 k circular orbit by myself!!

I also could not for the life of me find the circular Recievers in the stock items, so I have to assume all of those I see in Screenies are from mods.

The quest for setting up Spaceholme begins tonight!! Cannot wait to try the docking everyone talks about. :)

My short list of immediate wants:

  • Life support that actually matters, rather than just a few extra parts that cause some inconvenience. Crew mental and physical health, supplies, etc...
  • Actually difficult reentry and aerobraking requiring heat shields. Ties in with improved aerodynamics.
  • Random part damage. Should be a pretty rare occurrence and should be fixable given the right conditions, but it'd be nice to have failures that weren't always your fault.
  • Time delay for probes and a way to give them commands.
  • Science (on the way).

•Resources.

•Spaceplane parts overhaul.

•More variety of fuel tanks and engines.

•Fuel variety.

•Realistic power consumption (Something that goes deeper than add solar panels to avoid death).

•Realistic time intervals (some way of not being able to launch 50 rockets every 2 hours, would allow for a good timing planning for launch windows).

•Pre-Flight planning.

•The set of features everyone that looks for a bit of challenge wants but that cannot be included because of unity.

You seem to really hate the idea of playing casually.

You seem to really hate the idea of playing casually.

I want all the things he wants in Career mode, that way if you want casual, play sandbox.

:)

What I really want, is

Resources/Mining

Life Support

Resources/Mining

Radiation

Reentry Damage

Resource/Mining

More Habitat Parts

Customizable Kerbals

Did I mention Resources?

Meh, different difficulties appeal to different players.

As for me, at the moment, I would like a good way to determine where I am on a planet's surface (coordinates) and what coordinates my current trajectory will take me to.

(I realize ISA MapSat does part of this, but it turned into quite the murderous memory-hog after generating full maps of Duna and Kerbin.)

Well, here's my list.

- Mission planning

- More information while building vessels and in flight (Orbital stats, vessel stats, etc. Sort of like Engineer Redux)

- Something to know the phase angles of planets to better gauge interplanetary transfers

- Docking camera

- A way to change your action groups while in flight

- A way to better balance your ships RCS thrusters in the VAB /SPH (Right now it's sort of a guessing game)

- More symmetry and angle snap options in the VAB / SPH

- Enhanced IVA (Actually being able to move around inside vessels)

- A way to lock your heading to prograde, retrograde, normal +/-, and radial +/- without having to manually turn the ship and turn on the SAS

- Normal +/- and radial +/- markers on the NavBall

- A better way to switch to another vessel from the map view (Since right now orbits tend to overlap preventing you from selecting a vessel you want to switch to)

- Mining / resources

- A way to use mining / resources to build vessels on other celestial bodies

- Better aerodynamic model as well as re-entry heating and g-force damage

- Customizable fairings (Sort of like procedural fairings)

- Customizable spaceplane wings (Sort of like procedural dynamics)

- Life support, including oxygen, carbon dioxide, food, water, waste, and crew health (Along with that, also ways to grow food and acquire water off-kerbin)

- A winch, so that you can actually make a proper skycrane, bonus points if it can also be used to dock vessels together for fuel transfer

- Higher resolution terrain for all celestial bodies, like the recent terrain changes in the 0.21 update

- Science stuff and planetary research (Samples, etc.)

- Ion RCS, which would be much weaker than regular RCS (Sort of like a fine control RCS)

- A re-texture for a lot of the parts

That's all I can think of for the moment. :)

EDIT: Oh, and something that I'm sure is mentioned a lot, better performance. (However I don't mind waiting for that one because the game is still in alpha)

Better ion engines, so I can have solar powered vessels that consist of more than three parts.

"Big" nuclear engines for strapping to the back of orange tanks.

Part aesthetic updates. Some of the things, looking at you cockpits, look rather outdated.
