New mission objective: Select a site at Mun and put up Kethane mining facilities.

Note: I don't know how the Kethane plugin work. It seems that for my own save file, the Kathane deposit shows up at the Neil-Armstrong Memorial and Mun Arch...so, I think is safe that say that, the Kathane deposit is randomly generated.

is there a file for the kethane in the save, like where you scanned and where it is ?

Sorry, no ideal. I'm new to Kethane mod. I'll now go search at the Kethane thread. See if can find anything.

----------------------------Minutes later-------------------

OK. Found...The Kethane mod, store their finding at

\ksp-win-0-21-1\KSP_win\GameData\Kethane\Plugins\MMI_Kethane.dll

...I should include this to the upload file.

----------------------------Minutes later-------------------

someone said the Kethane map are store at the Kethane.cfg file... ok Upload again...please use the latest file.

i'm trying to get everything set up, i copied and pasted the everything in the uploads into the ksp directory, the second version of the latest save, but i can't get the kethane to show up as scanned.

i'm sure i can scan it myself, but i don't want to land the kethane equip and find out the kethane deposit didn't persist across the save. I'm kind of new at this.

sorry if this is a double post, but i tried to load the latest save file, everything that was uploaded anyway, and it's not showing that there's anything scanned on the mun.

I wanted to give landing some kethane equipment a shot, I can scan them myself with the probe in orbit, but are the locations persistent?

I believe they are randomly generated, but don't know whether it is base on what.

-------hours later...----------------

More research...

0.7.5

Kethane data is now saved in the persistence file, so it will now behave as expected through reverts and quicksaves/loads. Data is migrated from the old data file to the persistence file when the save is first loaded in either the flight or tracking station scenes. (The persistence file is not immediately saved when this happens, so perform a normal save to ensure the data is preserved.)

I've fixed the issue with the kethane setup. It seems that the data in the persistence was changed to a different seed (this is why the deposits were in a different location) and the scanmasks were altered. From now on, you should only need the kethane data that is integrated into the persistence file (not any kethane.cfg!). If for some reason your data gets messed up, I've uploaded a standalone kethane backup config file that you can load. For these changes to load you need to overwrite your current persistence file, start the game, and load any flight: you should be able to see kethane scans on Kerbin and the Mun, if not you can grab the kethane backup.

Mission #007 Complete!

xg4utYEl.png

After a grueling few minutes of stacking random items together, we found one that just might work. One of the engineers was late, so we had to use triple symmetry instead of quadruple (don't question it, this made sense at the time). In spite of our neglect to install a scanner on this bad boy, the team managed to strike kethane and have begun converting it into fuel. Everyone on the team has been awarded an additional candy bar.

[a cool mission picture]

2qpWIJp.png

[Mission synopsis]

Commander had decided to do the dangerous top-secrete science experiment at Kerbin 160km orbit. 2 brave scientist Lantop Kerman, and Shelry Kerman signup for the task. They board the science station and been send along with the initial launch. The launch was smooth and comfort, they even get some snake times on board. Everything went so well that they almost forget their important task.

After a few circulation of Kerbin orbit, fully recharge themselves, they decided to open the tightly seal top-secrete science experiment document for the 1st time.

The document reveal that, 'how to escape toward' the Emergency Evacuation Shuttle Craft, which have no where to be found at the moment and P/S it should be use at emergency situation only.

The document also reveal that they need to find their experiment task in that shuttle craft deposit box. So....they wait.

New mission objective: Emergency Evacuation Shuttle Craft Send a remote control (un-man) shuttle craft (LV-909 rocket SSTO airplane - under 6 tons when include engines+full fuel) that are able to carry 2 crews to dock with the Science station. Just in case the science station need evacuation. Remember to include parachute for landing back to Kerbin. Or fly back to KSC. Additional Note: Due to the experiment might contain bio-hazard, the EAS-1 External Command Seat are forbidden to use.

Please note that I've increased the time limit and altered the points system a bit: the changes altered the rankings a little, but I believe they have been improved. I've put all of the scoring info into a spreadsheet in the shared folder in case you wish to look at it. I've added a leader board and a summary of all missions to date as well.

Cheers, and I'm Looking forward to mission #9!

Is that even possible? Under 6 tons. Uses only one LV-909 for propulsion. SSTO.

Yes, it is.

The plane is a little tricky to take off, but it can fly well, aim for 30 Degree all the way, until about 15km, turn down to near 1 degree, for picking up speed, when Air-Intake reduce to 0.05, cut down Jet engines to about 70%, until frame out, by the time you should be around 1800++m/s. Turn off the Jet, turn around, turn on the rocket, and perform orbit maneuver. The high orbit of 160km are abit far. But I get the plane to 75km orbit with still 40 units of fuel left.

Btw...NO MECHJEB!!!
