What are the rules about slightly modifying a stock part and sharing it?

Hello, recently I've decided to tinker with part editing, and made an Ion RCS Port, it just uses a modified Linear RCS Port with a modified texture. I want to share this with people but am not sure about the rules concerning modified stock parts and modified stock textures.

suggestion though:

where possible, stick to config files only (aka part files, etc)

dont copy the whole part folder because that leads to unnecessary duplicate model loading

you can even have part files living in separate folders if you access the model URI properly

of course if it's a custom model then none of that applies so disregard.

Well this is unfortunate... Looks like I can't find any possible way to have an RCS thruster use more than one resource without creating an actual plugin for it, which I don't know how to do and am having trouble finding out how to do. >.<

EDIT: Primarily because nobody seems to have an extensive Kerbal Space Program API documentation.

There has been no official API documentation. The devs have said they intend on doing it, but cleaning it up to a release standard is at a lower priority than new content at this stage. The community has been working on some API documentation. There is some old information on the wiki. You can get the XML data for enabling calltips here. For any other information, check the Plugin Development section in the forum. The "Help a fellow plugin developer" thread is particularly useful for asking quick questions.

Good luck!

This. It sucks.

Right now the only way to find out what you need to do / how to do it is by opening the assemblies in something like JustDecompile and using ctrl+f, then reading tons of decompiled code until you found what you searched for.

Just copy the code from any regular rocket engine and change the resource names/ratios to what you want. How many different resources do you plan on burning in that RCS thruster?

I have one in ReStock that I think runs on IntakeAir and electricity.
