V1.6 released - see first post for download link

1.6 24 December 2013
---------------------------

Changes / Fixes
- Added new 0.23 EFFECTS{} for parachute sounds (stupid_chris)
- Tweaked main parachute deployment altitude slightly; the mains will now deploy almost immediately after drogues are cut, instead of after a (decidedly terrifying) period of free-fall.

Happy Holidays, folks :)

I'm having some issues with the clamp docking port that only displays as the stock part without the cap around it. It also seems to be having the "gaining weight until crushing crew with excess g's" bug. Can you update to that sense it has been solved for realchute mod?

Then you have an outdated version of RealChute. The part doesn'T make weight gain magically, the plugin does.

Well, I thought that was the way it worked but I have the latest version... Maybe it's another problem with similar results, didn't check the weight. Maybe the part, since it doesn't have the cap, starts deployed, but without any mess so invisible. It could create enough drag to cause a similar effect, couldn't it?

I don't see how this would be relevant but I took of the .cfg files from your mod, since I only wish to use the stock ones and this one adapted to realchute...

If you took config files directly from RealChute parachutes, there's high chances that you indeed broke something. A lot of parameters are part specific. You shouldn't touch the default configs.

  • 2 weeks later...

So, I was just playing KSP, had just installed a lot of mods after updating to .23, and I realized that I was missing something important. That something important was this pack. For some reason, I just can't get enough of pod/service module thingies. I have the Dragon by cBBp, the PTK-NP by MrTheBull, the Odin from NovaPunch (it's great as a crew transfer vehicle), the Gemini from FASA and now I'm about to install this mod. Which reminds me that I'll have to install the Shuttle Booster System by Tiberion, as it includes a SRB that fits perfectly for making an Ares-1 replica.

I've got a bug. For some reason all of the parts have a weird shading issue. They all look kind of cartoonish and very grey? They don't look like this in the screenshots and they didn't look like this when I had this in 0.22.

List of other mods, please. And probably give us an output_log.txt while you're at it.

Oh hello there, BoulderCo Aggressive memory reducer. That might be at fault here. Have you updated to the latest version? If so, can I get you to try unistalling that (and whatever else so you can actually play the game) and checking the parts that were previously affected?

Wait a second, you don't have KW, Novapunch, or B9? The madness!

V1.7 released - see first post for download link

1.7 13 January 2014
---------------------------

Changes / Fixes
- Dropped FusTek_Sumghai.DLL in favour of external dependency on Snjo's Firespitter plugin
- You will need to download and install the latest version of Firespitter yourself
- This change now allows the IACBM guidance fins to be tweakable within the VAB/SPH

Ooh, whaddaya know, it's my birthday today (at least, according to AEST) :)

Happy Birthdday Ghai.

For your birthday, can you explain why Firespitter is required? The SumDum Sevice Module is one of my must-haves. Is it changing in some more significant way that I can't perceive? Will I still be bale to dock to common docking ports? I also have your pre-release station pack for 0.23 but kind of hate having to always install adapters to go from CBM to standard docking port.

Read the changelog.... This is basically the main reason for use of Firespitter . Sumghai would have needed to recompile his own Fustek.dll for that . But it is easier with Firespitter.dll as it does this already very good :D So he can save some of his valuable time for working on the actual parts of his station modules I guess
