How does Superman "fly"

Ok, one for the science geeks. How does Superman move through the air ??

Following the story line: Krypton's sun is Red and has a "heavier" ratio of dense elements/material.

If gravity is less for Superman, how come objects do not float away from him ? How does he direct the gravitational force so that he moves "forward" ??

Why does his cloak flutter behind him ? As it the same density as him, it would not be affected by Earth atmosphere...

Because it's a comic book.

If you want a real explanation for it, you're not going to get one from someone who knows about science. He breaks the very laws of nature simply by being able to move without all that pesky "equal and opposite reaction" stuff that the rest of the Universe has to follow.

Comic books are fantasy, not science fiction. We don't need anything more than the waviest of hand explanations for things. And "His star was different, and ours is yellow so it gives him super powers" is enough to satisfy fantasy's less stringent requirements.
