Just wanted to chime in to say that this is perfect. Match's exactly what stock should be. I've been thinking something like this should be made for quite awhile (and apparently missed yours previously).

Don't get me wrong, NavyFish's Docking Port Alignment Indicator is fantastic, but not stock enough in comparison.

And I love the feel of Kitoban's Enhanced NavBall, this adds to that perfectly. In fact, I would absolutely love seeing the two together as a single mod. It's a perfect fit for each other and for the stock game.

This is a really handy mod. No extra windows or something, simply a point on the navball. This is exactly what stock KSP needs.

Post in the suggestions thread that Squad should consider to look at this and add it into Stock.

Makes Docking less trial and error (alignment) and it feels stock too, i really like it. Great little Mod!

Would it be possible to add the option for several navball indicator colours? I wouldn't mind changing mine to yellow, for instance. And thank you for a non-intrusive and stock UI-friendly alternative to the docking port alignment indicator.

Wow I love this mod. I was pretty ok with manual docking before but setting up your orientation and roll was always the roughest part.. This takes the guess work out of it and lets you concentrate purely on your approach.

This is already supported! See the readme file; you need to edit a conf file after installing the mod and running it once. I feel that an in-game GUI with toolbar integration would be overkill...
will this display on the raster prop monitor digital navball?

Since I don't even know what that is... maybe? probably not? try it out and post results!

Yes it does, although as the RPM display also includes a quite thick crosshair heading indicator and the other symbols from enhanced navball it can all get a bit 'busy'. I find I want to pop to map view to check the docking alignment indicator on a 'cleaner' display every now and again.

Hello!

I wanted to invite you mic_e to a discussion on a mod list I'm testing. Let me know in that thread if you would be interested in helping test other listed mods with yours, or if you already have.

I think the navball is gonna become a bit confusing with this mod, now that Squad added other vector symbols to it. Or maybe not! Let's wait for the update! :)

It's nothing new at all. Everyone used Enhanced NavBall all along, right?

jandcando: Thanks! I haven't had the time yet. Kowgan: Those additional navball features have been available for a long time with EnhancedNavball, and it was perfectly readable with those.

Nope, this mod always worked perfectly with Enhanced Navball. Perfectly readable.

Glad to know! I've never used the Enhanced Navball mod, so I couldn't tell. Thanks for the info!

I used to use this some time before science was a thing, and it always helped me a lot.

Now I can't, for the life of me, get the marker to show up. Is it correct that the dll goes into Gamedata\[modname], as the folder structure in the download suggests, and not gamedata\[modname]\plugins\ ?

Are there any mods this is known to conflict with?

The only one I have that I can imagine to cause a problem is RasterPropMonitor. Unfortunately I can't verify it because KSP goes insane when I uninstall RPM and doesn't let me enter buildings anymore in my saved game.

You shouldn't need to touch the dll at any point in the installation. Just find the GameData folder in the zip file and copy its contents into the GameData folder in your ksp directory. The marker only shows up when you target a docking port.

Yes, that is what I did. I've used this mod before, and i'm running a number of other mods, so I guess you could say I'm familiar with installing mods for KSP.

Only when it didn't work after several tries with fresh flights did I decide to even look at the folder structure. It just struck me as odd because I was used to seeing .dll files in the "plugins" subfolder, that's why I was asking.

The reason why I suspect RasterPropMonitor to interfere with this mod is that RPM has its own extra navball and uses modulemanager, so I think it's possible that RPM adds its own version of the stock navball as well, thus overriding any changes that the docking alignment indicator made. (This may very well be completely untrue - I don't know the first thing about programming)
