I have used all three. Windows is the best for accessablity to many programs to do anything you want as mac has... shortcomings it the way that they can\'t have flash. Mac is good but very basic. Linux is good but I want larger screen sizes on my laptop when booting into it. Overall my favorite is the one I am working on.

I like mac for most things, because it is so easy to use and intuitive. And unlike what was said earlier, you can install flash on it. Only real problem is that most windows programs are incompatible, but everything else pretty much makes up for it, and most new games are compatible nowadays.

I use Windows and have an Android phone, but I love the iPad they issued to me at work and the Mac Pro in the office is pretty awesome for Adobe CS and Final Cut. I guess you could call me iGnostic.

this. I like my mac for professional image processing with such tools as Photoshop and Aperture.

I do miss a lot of the things my windows pc offered me (larger game volume), but I found the mac os to be a bit more stable and faster than my windows pc. Of course, my last winders pc was running XP pro, and yes I\'ve used ME (ugh), and vista and 7 in other environments (work), but I still come home to my trusty macintosh. Yes it costs more for 'the same hardware' but I\'ve found apple hardware to last twice as long as any of the dell or crummy 'refurbished' HP hardware (that was marketed as \'new\') that I\'ve used in the past.

Lasting longer isn\'t really a selling point to most people, because computers need to be replaced/upgraded (you can\'t upgrade a laptop, and an iMac is probably difficult as hell to upgrade) by the time one will usually fail. New RAM, new processors, new GPUs, etc.

For an on-topic reply: I\'m fine with macs. I just hate apple. They advertise macs as being the 'computer for the rest of us', appealing to those that don\'t know much about computers. For that purpose, it works. But, they charge extremely large amounts for it - exploiting the consumer\'s lack of knowledge.

Ever since Apple dumped the PowerPC Architecture in favor of traditional x86 CPU\'s there is no difference in hardware between a PC and a Mac. You\'re just paying for an OSX license and whatever fees Apple feels like charging you with.

Windows has the largest software base by far. But this unfortunately also includes malware.

Linux distro\'s are great for anything that isn\'t media. Yes its hardware compatibility hasn\'t been great in the past, but it has improved since then. And with the recent restrictions on the latest Windows releases can even be said to have a greater range available to it.

My personal preference ends up with Linux. Because despite using Windows 99% of the time I know that when Windows screws itself up like it always does I can just boot into Fedora for any data recovery or problem solving.

I always hear that people have problems with windows. I never had any real problems other than my computer might have frozen like 10 times over the last 10 years. Well I don\'t remember much from my 98 computer so I can\'t say so for sure, but with 7 no big problems.
