Henna74
Hey everyone, i've just got Kerbal Space Programm and have a question. How can i get a liquid Engine to work? I've connected the fuel tanks to the engine but when i try to launch the rocketthere does no fuel flow into the engine and my rocket does not launch.Am i just to stupid for it or is there a bug or something? Johnno
Did you throttle up? Liquid fuel engines rely on throttle control.Hold Shift until the throttle marker (left of your navball) is at the desired level. Holding Ctrl will decrease it. Henna74
Thanks for this very, very, very fast answer. And that was the problem, just didnt know you had to throttle up >.<
Kasuha
If you put the engine right below the tank, it should draw the fuel from the tank. The only thing you need to do is to throttle up (shift) and activate the engine by staging (space). Doing so is part of the Flight Basics in-game training mission, you should try them if you didn't yet.
Skyrunner27
You may want to check out the tutorial section. This can be found on the same screen as the resume and start game.
Sirrobert
Welcome to KSPWhat most people do is throttle up, THAN launch. This sets the engine at 100% thrust right away. Not that important, but a nice gimmick
700NitroXpress
Make sure you're using the right fuel, pure liquid fuel tanks are used for jet engines and liquid fuel, oxidizer combo, is used for the rocket engines.
shadragon
@700NitroXpress Felt really dumb when I realized this is exactly what I had done. Using aviation fuel on a rocket. DOH! Cheers for that.
Snark
This is an ancient thread, three years old. The original posters have presumably long since moved on with life. Also, in general, be aware that responding to ancient threads can also be misleading, because in many cases, KSP has changed so much in the meantime that the original issue has become moot (though it happens to still apply in this particular case). Locking the thread to prevent any further confusion. If someone has a similar issue and needs help with it, feel free to spin up a new thread.
