Im having a somewhat similar issue to these guys.

I say somewhat similar, in that its hard to nail down EXACT steps to get this fault.

For instance, my current install on 64 bit linux will not get past notes in the loading screen. Removing notes fixes this problem. However, removing Crowd Sourced Science, or both FAR and Deadly Reentry will ALSO fix this problem.

More confusing is that loading ONLY notes, CSS, FAR and DR will work just fine. Only problem is, I dont WANT to remove notes.

Below is the opening of my player.log file. The entire file is here

The entire install has been conducted through CKAN, and Im not sure that any permissions issue exists - however I am new to linux so it could very well be the case.

Hi, that's odd because I'm playing in linux 64bits now (lots of mods) and have no issue... Looking at logs and the other people posts I see in common Texture Replacer and Advanced Texture Manager plugins, perhaps they don't like the icons textures(I don't use those mods). Can you try this config file? :

Save in GameData/notes/notes.cfg

And for the ones using ATM this should help I guess:

I too have had some crashes related to the images and am on Linux 64 Ubuntu 14.10. Maybe that they are not at a power of 2 resolution so 2,4,8,16,32,etc. would you be able to resie them to 16x16 or 32x32?

Hi all, 1st post updated with 0.11 version.

Some changes to the interface: added a button to create a new note, confirmation dialogs to delete note, delete directory, reload note and newnote actions and some minor tweaks.

The issue with the texture should be fixed now, sorry for the long delay on this one :(

i've had the exact same problem since .90 - no idea how to fix aside from not using the mod, which sucks

EDIT : aaaand after downloading the new version of this mod it finally works. no more eternal pause on loading. geez, after literally 2 years I finally have the pleasure of using it.. awesome

1st post updated with version 0.12, no changes more than adding notesRPM, which is a RasterPropMonitor plugin to show the notes in a monitor (just for the fun).

It's been a long time since this mod has worked for me. On a 64-bit Linux install with ~130 mods or so through CKAN and a small handful of manual mods, my game insta-crashes when it loads the Notes textures. Running v0.12 right now, this problem was reported at least as far back as ten months ago on v0.10. Any word on identifying this bug?

Running v0.12 right now, this problem was reported at least as far back as ten months ago on v0.10. Any word on identifying this bug?

That should be fixed back in 0.11, was because the reload.png texture size was not power of 2 and Active Texture Manager don't like that. Can you check it's 32x32pixels? Anyway can I've the logs when this happens? thanks.

Sorry I didn't reply sooner. I'm troubleshooting a few mod issues right now, and have only just now gotten around to revisiting this.

I've reverted to a mod-sterile version, and running KSP with only this mod (installed via CKAN) I experience no errors and can load into the game normally, but I cannot seem to access the mod itself. Exiting and CKAN-installing Blizzy's Toolbar, however, allows me to run this mod in-game with no worries or problems.

This suggests that my earlier symptoms were the result of a conflict with another mod -- unfortunate, as I'm running a LOT of other mods. I'll provide log files as I encounter this bug again. Any preference as to WHICH logs you'd need? Thanks!

Edit: Also, please be advised that the icons provided are 24x24.

You can access the mod without Blizzy's Toolbar via "Alt + N" (by default). I'm glad it's resolved now.

Um, no, this is decidedly NOT resolved now. Loading your mod by itself causes no problem. Loading this mod with the other mods of my install does cause a problem. Please refer to the dropbox log files and provide feedback as to further suggestions.

Looking at that directory there's some non power of 2 textures, which are know to cause problems with texture replacer and active texture manager mods. You have to either make texture replacer ignore them or resize those textures.

I can report that resizing the icons solved the problem, though I have no idea how to suppress them from TextureReplacer.

Perhaps you can resize your own icons to 32x32 in the next version?

I'm glad it's now fixed for real :rolleyes:. I'm not using none of those two plugins but you can read about that a few posts back here. But I guess you can ask directly in the texture replacer thread.

Few ... erm ... notes:

"Toggle input lock" radio button is overlapped with "new note" push button.

"New note" dialog have buttons on KSC overview but not in the VAB.

Scrollbar do not autoscroll to make sure cursor is visible.

File deletion dialog also empty in VAB

Deleted file stays open in the editor.

Oops! leaving VAB to overview scene do not fix missing buttons - visiting VAB makes bug permanent?

Hi, can I have the game logs? they are located in "/home/user/.config/unity3d/Squad/Kerbal Space Program/player.log" upload them somewhere and put the link here, thanks.

  • "Toggle input lock" radio button is overlapped with "new note" push button." - That's my bad I not playing now in linux so I didn't even notice that... easy to fix.
  • "New note" dialog have buttons on KSC overview but not in the VAB." and "File deletion dialog also empty in VAB." - I'm not able to duplicate this, perhaps a linux only thing? I'll see.

Hi, thanks for this, unfortunately I can't find nothing of interest :(. I played today a bit in linux and I can't replicate the dialog bug, odd. Can you confirm you're launching ksp with "LC_ALL=C" like it's stated here?

What I want to be able to do is to record various optimised ascent parameters etc for each craft that I have designed, so when I use it I do not ned to remember the best way to launch it.

What I want to be able to do is to record various optimised ascent parameters etc for each craft that I have designed, so when I use it I do not ned to remember the best way to launch it.

You can create notes everywhere, even directories if you want to keep things organized (I make a dir per mission usually). As per vessel notes you can use the "open ship log" button, but it's only active in flight.

Aren't planted flags intended for that? :confused: Anyway as I stated many times I want to keep this as simple as possible, this is supposed to be just a notepad :)

Great mod, is there anyway to bring up the notepad without alt+n (it also brings up the box for blouderco mod). Maybe I could change the keys needed?

you can get blizzy's toolbar to use that to bring up the notepad, or if you use Left Alt+N it will bring up notepad but not boulderco
