So I finally finished the tech tree and planted a flag on every planet. I hit a brick wall this evening and could not find anything new to do. Can you guys make any suggestions as to what to do now and any mods that could further gameplay? Thanks in advance.

I've not played career with mods yet so can't advise on that. But good mods to look at are remote tech so you can set up satellite networks (which is then a pre-requisite for having unmanned craft). Ioncross life support so you have to carry enough oxygen. Kerbal attachment system because having a winch opens up so many possibilities. Infernal robotics so you can make parts move, again limitless possibilities and actually designing really good IR craft can be quite a challenge.

B9, NovaPunch, KW rocketry for a ton of nice parts and larger fuel tanks (with same weight/fuel ratio as stock), they look nice and you can cut down on part count. Just don't stick them all in together or you computer will hate you. Oh and aviation lights cos, well then you can have a disco (see vid link on right most pic in my sig).

I'm currently on a mission to suck the science out of every part of the system. I'm currently on about 17000 points, with 2 guys stuck in a Moho orbit waiting for rescue.

Do all the moons :D

Do some science.

Make more complicated rockets (apollo style, for instance).

Make simpler rockets.

Find some interesting challenges in the challenge section.

Create some interesting challenges.

Land on more than one planet/moon in a single trip.

Make a sun impactor.

Build a space station, because you can.

Just finished tech tree for the first time but it took me more than a decade of Kerbal time and I haven't even got Bill, Bob, and Jeb home from Jool, they are orbiting Pol right now. When my new computer gets here next week I intend to challenge myself to starting a new career mode, and trying to max the tree in the shortest possible elapsed Kerbal time and to visit every body in the system (probes only for the Kerbol and Jool) in the minimum possible Kerbal time. Thinking of seeing if I can push it for Jool and Eloo with hyperbolic trajectories. I need to return a Kerbal from each mission to Kerbin though.

Get the SCANsat mapping mod, and map all bodies in the system, then land and plant a flag at all anomalies

It was said even by HarvesteR himself that the tech tree is intended mostly as a means of "pace-controlled introduction" to the game's many features, lest they don't overwhelm new players all at once...

In other words: You just started playing. :wink:

Do what i did !

- Added "interstellar" tree and parts (works for .22) (LINK)

- Add clouds and planetary effects LINK

- Add KAS for more fun ! (LINK)

Additionally, you could review part configuration files and incorporate the Kethane mod into existing trees though it takes a bit of legwork, time and research (about an hour if you are familiar with the config files and the techRequired entries)

That video inspired me to do something similar when I first saw it. I have yet to actually launch anything, I'm still planning it out :P
