Lander and Science

So I sent a lander/command module to minmus. (First time on minmus with recovery to kerbin!) Before I shed the LM for return to kerbin, is there any way to transfer the science over to the CM? I don't want to have to transmit all the lander's data, thanks to transmission losses. I don't see any way to do it, but maybe someone has figured something out? Thanks!

Attach a decoupler under the science module, and just shed MOST of the LM. Keep the sciencey bits.

Otherwise, direct ascent is perfectly viable from Minimus. Takes a little more fuel, but you also get a viable lander for Kerbin.

Yeah, but I wanted to go to whole Apollo CM/LM way, plus this launcher is flexible enough to go to eve or duna, although the lander would never make it back up out of eve or duna.

Then you'll just have to keep the sciencey bits attached, and design the CM so it doesn't land on them.

Well it's too late for this mission...poor Heroly is liable to get himself killed, volunteering to attempt to land an underpowered LM on the surface of Kerbin!

If you can keep it connected to the CM module it might work. Note the MIGHT.

For future missions, it's actually pritty easy to get back from Minmus surface straight to Kerbin in 1 stage. Ofcourse it's way more fun to do a full on CM+LM style

That's called* the "ablative landing gear method." It can be a successful technique.
