1. I'm sorry Dave, I'm afraid I can't do that. Can only set attachment rules for the entire part, and if enabled, and people attach things to the inflatable part, they will not move with the mesh as the thing is inflated and be stuck inside the model, which is bad.

A possible solution is to make the caps a separate part altogether.

Will the arms fold up? Maybe you've already thought abut it, but the point of inflatable modules is mostly to be able to fit spacious living or storage quarters in smaller launch vehicles., along with some weight benefits I assume.

If you are referring to my above post, it would start deflated/retracted. something like this: (granted I think this is a little to compact to be realistic)

Note: The reason for the pear shape of the modules is: while spinning the centrifugal "gravity" will pull on the envelope so they are premade/strengthened to do this.

Looking good man. Add a science lab to your mod, which actually generate science, and I'm sold! ;)

I'm afraid he can't do that without a plugin. You could, however, cfg edit one to use the KSP Interstellar science lab module, if such a thing exists and it isn't hardcoded.

lab I don't like, to bland maybe? It lacks that feeling of character I get from the interstellar mod's lab or the concept lab I have.

Dude, on the contrary!

I think this lab looks awesome and look forward to more parts with a simmilar stockalike feel.

EDIT disregard this! I thought you were talkin about Porkjets work not the stock lab. I kinda like the stock lab, but in 0.23 I think that you should give this lab the same functionality, maybe slightly better but further on in the tree

I know what you mean. The interstellar mod lab is amazing. I couldn't do it any better.

On another note: I'm working on this right now, and have a question to you folks.

The outer diameter is about 7 meter, and it would be unrealistic to have it deflate all the way down to 2.5 meter, so as I've planned it now, its gonna deflate to about 3.75 meter diameter. Is it much of a problem for you that it doesnt deflate to 2.5 meter?

I'm sure a generous application of boosters will be capable of launching it into orbit. I wouldn't mind.

Looks promising.. I wouldn't mind the bigger deflated size

Really enjoying the mod, it's a great addition to my space station :D.

But also I seem to have encountered a problem. I was trying to send a base built with 4 Inflatable Habs to the Mun but couldn't get the thing to behave itself.

When they are arranged like this they seem to just go crazy and wiggle around, violently. This typically ends with one section flying off.

interresting :huh: gotta test this. I did notice some minor wiggling, but have no clue why it should wiggle more than other parts. Already gave it 2.5meter attach nodes cos I hoped they would be stronger. What you could try is add some struts from that tower to the modules.

edit: So I just copied your base and flew it around the KSC and it held together without wiggle for me. I hope you just encountered one of those random KSP bugs.

The hatch is on the caps tho. I'd have to move it to the inflatable section, which I don't want. I like to think of the big cap to be an airlock, which it probably is. It's modeled after the real bigelow modules, and they have those caps to. I like the caps.

Yes!

I downloaded that link and all I have access to is the Orb.

That's weird. It's definetly there tho, Gamedata/parts/command/inflato1

Maybe it's conflicting with some other mod for some obscure reason
