Anyone else mesmerized by stupid_chris' new avatar? I can't stop looking at it. (How the hell can you have such a large image anyway? The limit I see is all of 19.5KB. My experience says your avatar is impossible.)

Was anything in the configuration UI changed in the latest release? I can't really edit any placed RealChutes anymore because I can no longer see the configuration options.

Edit: Screen resolution is 1280 x 720, UI Size is Small. Also noted the new preset buttons that are taking up the space I need. :/

I'm now having an issue with realchute again. Since updating some of my mods and modulemanager etc Realchute has stopped working properly. The parts still appear in the tech tree and I can select them in the VAB and SPH but when I put them on the craft I'm unable to modify them in any way, such as changing their size or deployment parameters etc and they don't appear in my staging. Stock parachutes act the same way that they would if Realchute was not installed (right click tweakable). I have a really bad feeling it could be Mechjeb, seeing as its the only other mod I have that isn't working, and the problem is similar, the part itself and its entry in the tech tree is there, but I have no functionality with it. Anyone know if there is some kind of fix, i.e. any mods that interfere with these two or if they interfere with each other? Help much appreciated :D

EDIT: Included image of Gamedata directory so full modlist can be seen

Yeah the screen resolution is the obvious problem. I'll try to stick everything into the scrolling to fix that.

I can't tell anything from that, I need your logs.

So, I'm working on (for my private usage) a version of the SDHI paradocks that's tweakable. I don't want to change the model in any way - I just want to change the parachute characteristics. Is there a way to easily do this with the current RealChutes version? The ProceduralChute module appears to be for fully procedural parts. Tweakables doesn't have the auto-calculator that the procedural UI has. Is there a way to do this without using the manual calculator and/or configuration file editing?

stupid_chris, having issues on loading the game. I see this in the log:

...

[LOG 13:42:47.731] PartLoader: Compiling Part 'RealChute/Legacy Parts/small_chute/RC_drogue_small'

[LOG 13:42:47.790] PartLoader: Compiling Part 'RealChute/Legacy Parts/small_chute/RC_drag_small'

Then the game seems to just spin it's wheels. Text in game window shows:

RealChute/Parts/cone_chute/RC_cone

The load comments are just cycling through, so it seems that part is causing issues.

I did update to the latest version and I *did* completely delete the RealChute folder *first* from GameData.

Can I disable that part/fix some other way?

Thanks.

I'm pretty sure SDHI is /already/ tweakable through the right click menu. Besides, ProceduralChute can work for anything.

I really can't tell much from that. It's not happening for anyone else nor for me, so it's obivously a problem on your installation. Try removing all other mods, see if there's still the problem. Else I need logs and info, and make sure that RealChute is properly installed and stuff.

If I remove the RealChute folder, the game loads fine. It does process some of them, but then fails on the RC_cone file...

Let me try and free some RAM to double check that's not the issue, although normally it just dies completely when that happens.

Edit: Nope, I shut down a few things like Outlook and Chrome and still hangs at exact same point. I'll sort it out later, thanks. By the way, nice mod!

(I have used it on other machine).

It's tweakable via the right-click, but I was wondering if there's a way to do it via the "usual" procedural UI that was added in v1.0.

What does happen if ProceduralChute is added to a part, but textureLibrary is left blank?

Nothing at all - it'll work as you expect it to.

I'm not sure why, but I literally cannot play KSP without RealChutes put into my game ever since I started playing with them. There's something about having multiple types of parachutes to consider about than just the "Magic stop-o-matic chutes" that's just so amazingly appealing, while still keeping the idea of using different kinds of parachutes very simple as you have in this mod. The improvement for the "RealChutes in-game config panel" thing is also amazing!!!

Please keep up your fantastic work with this mod! It's easily one of my favorite mods out of everything I've used!

Edit: I figured I could squeeze this into this post too, I suppose. We CAN delete the Legacy Parts folder in the realchutes mod if we don't have any older ships to land and update, right?

Well thank you :)

And yep you can, go ahead it'll lighten your loading a bit.

Also guys, just telling you all that I'm completely done with finals, had my last one earlier today. I'll be taking the next few days to rest a little because my brain can only take so much, but then I'll get back to doing stuff and I'll try to give this a little fresh wind update :)

Cheers!

I don't really think it needs a "Fresh Wind" update, I love this mod and it works beautifully. The only issue I have is that the Deploy on Ground Contact doesn't seem to work, do I need to set deployment altitude to 0 for it to work?

No. It deploys when your plane touches down. Make sure it's actually enabled though. If you have the option enabled the chute will deploy without even having to be armed first. It auto-deploys / auto-arms on touchdown.

What Starwaster said. If the altidude is 0 it won't work, just touch down normally and the rest will happen on it's own.
