After a lot of sloooow restarts what with all these mods, I've got a nice set of numbers for Guiana that fit the terrain without glitches. In RealSolarSystem.cfg

                                PQSCity
{
KEYname = KSC
lodvisibleRangeMult = 6

// Guiana
latitude = 5.35
longitude = -52.75
reorientFinalAngle = -37
repositionRadiusOffset = 52

PQSMod_MapDecalTangent
{
//radius = 79637.5
radius = 10000 // KSP: 7500
heightMapDeformity = 80 // was 75
absoluteOffset = 0
absolute = true

// Guiana
radius = 7500
latitude = 5.35
longitude = -52.75

Then RemoteTech_Settings.cfg

		Latitude = 5.35
Longitude = -52.75

Everything is flush to the ground and gives a nice view behind when lifting off.

And one other thing, using AIES gets you accel and barometer parts for free. Meaning the 2nd science node isn't necessary for a while.

(Seeing that the top reply is about RSS, i'll give this a go)

So... Im i the only one having a problem with RSS? Its all fine, but then when i go to the map view, or i get high enough, the texture is just messed up, it has black spots all over the continents, not in the ocean though, is it just me/my computer? A pic:

(Forget the 2 first images, im lazy to make another album, the last one is the one im talking about... Yes, it looks like that from the menu, from the map view and if i fly high enough)

One problem I am having with the RSS aspect is the game doesn't seem to be noticing when the atmosphere ends. I was out to 155km and it was still saying 'upper atmosphere'. The Karman line is supposed to be 100km right? I see the RSS config says maxAtmosphereAltitude = 180000 so that would be the border now (it was 100km in RPL18)?

Yep, low is at 180km now, that's a fair bit more :)

smallCtrlSrf, and StandardCtrlSrf, these are the control surfaces (plus the AdvancedCanard and CanardController but those are canards so that might not be needed)

not sure if swept wings are in the 1st plane node but that would be neat. For rockets the "Delta-Deluxe Winglet" (winglet3) should be good enough for for 90% of rockets, sounding or otherwise

I found those "Delta-Deluxe Winglet" too big, procedural wings lets you make tiny fins. On the very small stuff dropping the CoL with these is all I want.

I just unlocked early coms and weirdly all three antenna nodes above it are empty and cost no science. More 'todo' area?

procedural wings are very good, i agree, but they arnt supported by tech tree AFAIK... so using them would be some what "non-standard" (which is fine, they just arnt something placed in the tree though). how many parts is procedural wings (procedural dynamics i think is the full mod name)? i think its only 6 parts... so if asked politely, after he finishes sorting out the tech tree and hotfixes over the week, Medieval Nerd may be persuaded to include them.

@SlimeCrusher: your still getting that odd "black earth"? didnt that get fixed in the RSS forum last week or so? Thats a real bummer thats happening, (that has to be an issue with one of the earth maps), try replacing your earth images with the ones i will link, they go here: "Kerbal Space Program\GameData\RealSolarSystem\Plugins\PluginData"

this is over 87mb, be warned

Wait there was an update of RSS? Didn't knew lol, gotta test it, if it doesn't work, i'll test your images :)

i dont think an update past the version (v6) you have (just incase what version of RSS are you on? v6?). I just know those images work for me, so in theory they should work for you

Are you using 'vanilla' RSS?

If so the altitudes should match those listed on the OP.

I'll shove all plane parts in a single node, except any Interstellar part since I can't really move those without messing with his research/leveling up system.

Yep, the main download link on the RSS page your OP links to - https://github.com/NathanKell/RealSolarSystem/releases/tag/v6

That has maxAtmosphereAltitude = 180000 and I just flew out over 180km before it clicked to 'low space'. If that's not the vanilla one, please advise ;)

Nope, you already know, without resizing these textures never work for me, so yea... Try resizing them yourself and send me the resized version, as it may be the software im using to resize my pics (GIMP) or even myself

If not, it may just be my computer, and i may have to live with it :P

And also, yea, im using v6, but what's that fix you were talking about?

I only ment "was it not fixed, by people answering you when you had asked about this before"... but the answer is "no" from the fact you still have issue. Ok all the images should be the correct size but the "EarthNRM.png" which i think is an 8K image in the links i sent you, use the other images and i will link you the smaller EarthNRM.png (the 2048 x 1024 version) to use with them

https://www.dropbox.com/s/f9v399blxhn8skv/EarthNRM.png

^^ This is the standard sized image (the 2048 x 1024 version), you should have no need to resize it or use a smaller image, i really hope this solves your issue>> use the files i linked in the dropbox zip file, but use with this smaller "EarthNRM.png" in this posts link and it should work

I don't understand this new tree at all. Is there a separate tree for probes, a separate tree for capsules now? The thermometers, etc, don't seem to do science any more now either.

Yes, but the thermometer should be giving you science.

Bugs:

Sputnik 1's description is breaking the window, like so.

Some other descriptions are missing.

Luna 1 has no experiments, blocking progress.

Uhh... Yea i'll have to live with it as it seems like, its not the NRM, its the other 2 map textures, and when i resize these 2 it just does the black thing, its just a graphical bug so yea

My space center is floating 1 meter above ground, but meh, its not very important

That's most likely some crazy overlapping triple tweak files. I'll make sure that's sorted with the hotfix this week!

Stock instruments should work as they usually do. Only custom experiments will be body specific.

To get a better idea of the new tree, check the OP it's just slightly outdated, but should give you an idea of the new layout.

When the hot-fix comes out, could you specify again exactly which cfg files to be used?

For example, realism overhaul and real fules w/rtfs, associated realism patches for FASA, which in turn need the two dll's and the resources cfg. Remote tech cfg's, basically any sort of balancing cfg that is needed that your pack does not include.

Yes, I will. I wasn't aware of all these new user patch/tweaks, hence the massive confusion. D:

I'll also reach out to some of the patch authors and bring them into the RO fold. If it's a patch that's only useful for RSS/RO, why bundle it seperately or have a seperate link for it? Just adds confusion. Although even at this point, there are quite a hefty amount of mods to download and setup to get things going. So perhaps we are already at the stage of 'one more don't change a thing'. ;)

A couple of the science nodes seem to be empty(bio sample return, and the proceeding one). Am I missing something, or are those just an unlock?

A lot of empty nodes! a lot! I think that was one of the meager release notes... if not it should be there. D:

Due to some pretty stupid mistakes this weekend, I had to redoo a lot of work that was previously done. So I had to cut corners a bit to make the release. Easier to make small fixes, than one mega epic update. And as you guys and gals already found, it's full of bugs!

Bugs everyhwere! D:

It's just... amazing... Granted, there are few bugs (most of them pretty easily fixable), but even now, I find it much more enjoyable than stock KSP or even the MS18 release.

But I have got a question... Do you plan on using some of the AIES probes? They look much prettier (and more realistic) than the stock ones and I think it would be shame not to use them. I can imagine sending out a MRO-like mission with these probes much better than with the stock cubic one :)

EDIT: I mean, in some of the custom experiments

I definitely intend to!

A lot of the stuff for MS19 was redone from teh ground up, since MS17/18 were my first 2 public releases and were meant as a sort of trial run to see interest/feedback.

MS19 is the beginnings of what RPL is going to end up being. I'm still listening to the feedback on the thread and will try to do one mega hotfix to address everything reported this week. :)
