I proudly present (I think) the self-powered engine-less hypersonic canard, or SPELHC (the sound it makes when it hits the ground).

This happened during an explosion on the runway. Spaceplane was not even moving. Anyone else had this happen?

Yeah, I know. Not quite as bad as flinging Kerbals into the sun for no reason, other than the laughs. And before you say anything, I was bored at the time.

I realize that. Only, this was in Career mode, in 0.22. For a second, I thought the infamous Kraken had returned!

I've had that bug every other time I crashed a plane, I got one to hit the Mün! (After 10 bounces off the atmosphere)

Kerbals forgot to mention the experimentation of alien technology on their crafts, meaning some wierd results might come up.

As antiquark mentioned, it's known as the infiniglide bug. It's a limitation of the current aerodynamics model in KSP. More advanced models like FAR don't suffer from this bug.

It is SO WEIRD!!! I've had this happen before, except the canards go MUCH faster when it happens to me. They sometimes reach hypersonic speeds at 100-500 meters.

Actually, I was making an orbital crash-ball, but was surprised when it started flying...

I can attest to this phenomenon.

A rocket exploded experienced critical failure on the pad, and debris flew everywhere, but one of those pieces had bigger things in mind.

Sadly it did not reach orbit. If it did though, I could have claimed to have built a one part SSTO .
