Rocket Up. Glide Down.

By far my favourite type of craft, hours spent delivering payloads, changing crews, collecting debris and getting as much as i can out of a craft before retiring it. Prefer to keep them looking as stock as possible and i don't use anything but the stock engines. Image dump inbound!

Mk1 - First succesful glider, became my refuelling tanker.

Mk2 - Most succesful to date, cargo-bay makes it infinately more fun. As do KOs autopilot and space-dock.

Mk3 - Long-range research vessel, currently the only one built in career mode. Main engine remains covered unless needed.

Bonus points for landing without vertical thrusters?

Asparagus staging works on shuttles too! This one can take 50 tons to LKO and then land at the KSC runway. Built with B9 structural parts and wings but uses stock LV-T30 engines, as well as a pair of jet engines to aid in landing. The cargo here is a Duna lander bundled with a small rover (last image).
