Small part count, "close enough" accuracy. Straight up kerbalized SpaceshipOne.

It's a suborbital spaceplane but you know it anyway.

Actually named "Albatross 4" in my save and I added a docking port and rcs. You can remove it.

It can achieve 100k orbit.

Take off as soon as possible but gently or lose a tail.

Since you are a falling brick in the sky in default ksp, good luck landing the thing without fuel. But you can achieve 100k with extra little bit of fuel so if you do it right, you might land.

Poor mothership can't be controlled because ksp.

But it can look like it's controlled, If you have a kerbal in the White Knight (mothership) as well, and leave SAS on, it flies straight; previously it went whatever direction the lift is going. For example, it your plane pitches up when you let go of the controls, before you apply trim, it will pitch up when it is not controlled. SAS turns of if the vessel is not controlled. I discovered this while making my Japanese G4M (called "Betty" by the Allies) and the kamikaze plane MXY-7 Ohka:

and also the real SpaceShipOne is suborbital, so yes you can land

KSP don't load vessels more than 2.2m, they disappear. So you won't see it anymore if you are going suborbital already and it's in the atmosphere. Also, ksp has no aerodynamics, it's a falling brick after the engines cut off.

Yep, the 2.3 km unload is a problem for this mission designs.

My solution is to keep the carrier vehicle unmanned and just forget about them after seperation.
