Yes, as other say mainsail with infinite fuel, you aim a bit ahead of target planet.

However newtons laws still work, you need time to brake and can not dogfight like WW2 fighter planes.

Movies has problems with that, not only scifi but also modern warfare, part of the problem is making it look visual exiting then the two sides are out of visual range of each other.

I saw an clip about US fighter planes attacking an Japanese warship during WW2, it reminded me of star wars fighting :)
