Health and safety lacking in the VAB

Kerbanauts do their job knowing it is a risky business but do the job any way for science and glory. So why do SQUAD make Kerbal engineers and scientist in the VAB work in such an unsafe workplace. Rockets at either too low making them a head bumping hight risk, helmets do not seem to be available for these guys or too high and thus creating a falling from heights risk, no fall restraints available either. I also think that high visibility work attire should be made available for the VAB work crew to reduce the risk of being taken out by the drifting vehicles.

So for the safety of the hard working Kerbal engineers and scientist who get no glory. Could all the Construction coordinators (gamers) please place any and all rockets under construction at a safe working height. At least until SQUAD implements adequate safety systems and makes personal protective equipment available to VAB construction floor staff.

Your cooperation will be appreciated and hopefully KSP can maintain a perfect safety record with no know recorded deaths of ground staff to date.

To all Construction coordinators. If you at aware of any other health and safety issues for ground staff please post here so all other Construction coordinators can be made aware and implement the appropriate safety procedures.

Health and safety is covered by the fact that anything that isn't directly connected to the space craft turns into a ghost.

Also the rocket is completely mass-less until it's on the launch pad. A kerbal could lift a 100 ton rocket with one hand while it's in the VAB.

I think this thread is encouraging an unhealthy attitude towards the expendable nature of Kerbals. If the accidents in the VAB were to decline this would to a fall in mystery good production and in turn lead to a collapse in the scientific advancement of all Kerbal Kind.

This thread must be closed for the good of the community.

Mmmmh, I naively thought that mystery goo was made of "high energy plankton"...

This changes everything.

:0.0: "Mystery goo is people!" :0.0:

I'd have thought science would progress faster if the ground crew weren't being killed by falling fuel tanks.

Reminds me of the scene in "the matrix" where Morphius describes the dead being fed to people in the matrix

True, I was focused on Soylent Green and didn't think of Matrix.

The Matrix OST even contained Ministry's "Bad Blood", which fitted this scene nicely.

And now, because of you, it's looping in my head... \m/:D\m/
