Health and safety lacking in the VAB

OSHA states anything over 6 feet, you need a proper harness/fall protection. I agree, I see no PPE at all... hardhats, safety glasses, visibility vests, steel toed boots, earplugs... nothing. Obviously noone has been properly trained in safety, just walking around nonchalantly around a floating rocket.. I bet most of them can't even spell MSDS.

Yah! Realism...GO!!!

P.S. What's a safe height?

All ceilings should be at least 195cm (6ft. 5in.), ceilings for stairways should be at least 205cm (7ft. 4in.).

All elevated floors higher than 75cm (2.5 ft.) should have a railing between 80cm and 120cm tall.

All structures, floors, ladders and free-standing implements higher than 185cm (6ft.) require being tied off and wearing a safety harness.

I take issue with the first half of the first sentence:

Do they? I can't find any evidence of that.

Looking at the astronought complex it would appear that the Kerbals get a pritty good view of the launch pad and launches. Jeb Bob and Bill who will get into any comand pod untested, upside down, pointed at the ground, (I've tested this)and with out insrtuction. This is surly evidence of bravery or stupidity. All other kerbals will have witnessed a " first launch" and then without instructions also jump in any comand pod whether Jeb Bill or Bob survive or not. Now not all Kerbals have high stupidity thus a good proportion of them must be brave (aware of how risky the job is).

Kerbals dont need safety! Look at that head, its got a built in shock abosrber, their brain ends just above their eye level, the rest is for absorbing shocks! And why are their limbs so wide compared to their lenght? they are coated in a sponge like tissue that alows them to tumble hundreds of meters down mountains without even bumping their bones! And why the thick green skin? Its not only so they can go months only eating snacks, but its thick and tough to avoid scraches, punctures and bruises! Kerbals have evolved to be the ultimate care free machines! Saftey, pah they dont even know the word exists!

I think the VAB and SPH sport a counter-gravity field around the rocket. Hence why it just sort of hovers there, and can be moved about effortlessly. The Kerbal engineers are not really in any danger of falling when they work on anything in there. A pity they can't get that counter-gravity field to show up anywhere else...
