As near as i can tell, you injected into the mun soi, but at a very slow speed relative to the mun. The mun is then going to drag you all over creation as it orbits kerbin, giving the impression of that bizzare path.

You are only taking that crazy path with respect to kerbin. It will likely look like a curved line from the moon soi.

Actually, that's a known problem with that mode of patched conic drawing. We've seen it show up a few times before too. The actual orbit you get into around the body you're transitioning to is never even close to the crazy loop-de-loop it shows. I'm not sure we ever nailed down exactly what causes it, but I bet it's a rogue 0 somewhere in the calculations. That number does more damage to carefully-crafted programming logic than any other.

This is probably what actually happen, since i have experience it first hand in the normal game
