What new features have you discovered in your KSP??

Rules

You must post a picture of the feature in action,or if it's a module then just a picture of it.

you cannot post one someone has already posted

you must tally the number of times you were the first one to post a feature,put it in each of your posts of whatever feature you found

HAVE FUN!!!:)

Command pods now carry mono prop. (No thrusters at present built in.) No doubt, to limit what your Kerbal can use for EVA. Mass of the pod reflects the limited on board monoprop for use by your EVA Kerbal. (Not yet tested if that fuel gets used across decouplers by thrusters placed elsewhere.)

The game now lags obscenely with even one part when looking at the horizon on Kerbin, whereas before it only lagged particularly badly in that case when dealing with particularly complex ships. I guess that's kind of an "added feature", albeit one nobody wants (least of all the developers).

HOW TO FIX (somewhat):

GO TO settings .cfg and open with notepad (or a notepad-equivalent on mac)

SCROLL DOWN TO BOTTOMish SECTION. it should say something like this:

PLANET

{

name = Kerbin

minDistance = 8

minSubdivision = 1

maxSubdivision = 10

}

PLANET

{

name = KerbinOcean

minDistance = 8

minSubdivision = 1

maxSubdivision = 7

you want to set the MinDistance to 2, and the MaxSubdivision to 4 in the part that says KerbinOcean. Should decrease the lag.

Oh yeah and it was supernovy who figured this out. the credit goes to him.

...you can try reducing the "minDistance" and "maxSubdivision" values for the ocean entries in the terrain part of the settings.cfg file (KerbinOcean, EveOcean, etc.). I personally use minDistance = 2, minSubdivision = 1, maxSubdivision = 4.

wait.. does this mean that kerbin is actualy 2 different planets superimposed over each other? one being the ground terrain, and the other is a water world?

That's exactly it. It's been several versions since the water lag's been bad enough for us to have to recommend that particular fix. It should also be noted that if you dislike the water being too glitchy, you should only modify the MinDistance value. The graphical surface won't align with the water's physical surface at some places, but it won't look quite so glitchy if you leave the Subdivision values alone :)

ALLRIGHT, ALLRIGHT, I GET THAT YOU PEOPLE HAVE TO GO OFF AND SAY HOW UNNEEDED THIS THREAD IS,WHEN IT WAS MEANT TO BE A SORT OF "GAME"!!!:mad:

Two people expressed their dislike of this thread, but that doesn't mean it shouldn't exist. It's a good idea; posting the changes with pretty pictures on the forums is far more fun, if that's the right word to describe it, than reaching a text file.

Had it been a search for surprise features and/or .23 easter eggs, and they're were any, this thread would have been OK. But as it is it is just a sort of illustrated change log.

Possible example: I think they changed the color of the first small stock parachute from orange to yellow.

Wait a minute, how do you open additional info? The box moves with the mouse pointer, I can't click anything in it. :huh:

How about if you run out of electicity, you can no longer fire the engines? Probably realistic but SUCKS.

That was a known thing even in older versions.

Thee answer you must seek in the bottom of the pic you avail!

I saw. RMB. Does that mean right mouse button? If it has to do with the rotational wheel on the mouse, then I have to buy a new mouse because mine is broken. :(

hrmm, it didn't happen to me in .22 even though I ran out of electricity several times. I just fired up the engines to charge it up. Now I cannot fire them.

That must've been because of some error. It's a known realistic nuisance which caused many probes and ships to go silent in the space.

Not quite, not being able to start up the engines without electricity is only a thing if you have a probe controlling your rocket, which obviously stops working once it doesn't have electricity anymore. Having a Kerbal fly your rocket, however, does not prevent you from controlling it once you're out of electricity.

Hrmm, I only use probes currently. So I cannot explain it. I think with tweakables, I can set up an emergency battery (disable use). I will do that next time so I can enable it, fire engines, then disable it, if I run out of electricity.

This thread is quite old. Please consider starting a new thread rather than reviving this one.
