Some people dont like mods even if they look cool. I like your approach to ease the ongoing argumentation but mods are only the compensation of the communities unfulfilled wishes. In my opinion it is time that squad implements the planets and moons novasilisko mentioned a long long time ago.

Squad is not going to make the exact game you want. Even if somehow they happened to share exactly your desires for the game and were able to implement all of them, they're not going to do it today. The mods are available today and Squad explicitly coded easy mod support into the game for that exact purpose.

Playing without mods is actually playing the game in a way that Squad didn't intend.

Is it that hard to make us a gas giant or add a moon to Eeloo?
as i said in the other thread Dan, its not just making a sphere and putting it in the game. if they add another planet it will be a finished job. a complete biome map, science text for every instrument at various heights, re-writing the archives. you also seem to ignore how difficult designing the planet is. every crater, hill, plain, valley, mountain has to be made, and on top of that they need to make a texture that fits it. you wouldn't want an icy pole draped over your equator. why would they put the time into that when we still don't have biomes for anything outside of kerbin orbit? not to mention the other more pressing game issues that need working on.

Well, they can't give Eeloo a moon, as it is going to become a moon of Gas Planet 2 eventually.

Actually one thing they don't have in the game yet is a moon that has a moon. I think it would be cool if they made a Uranus-type planet on its side, put Eeloo in orbit around it in the same crazy plane, and then gave Eeloo a moon that went around it in the more normal way.

It's over 1,000!!!!!!! :D

Personally, I don't give a crap whether they add a new planet or not. We've got a planet mod, and Nova's working on another mod to rearrange and change the current planets. Just play with those until you get more. If you can wait a year without complaining, then do the same with those.

Hmm... that is a good point.

but what if the modders turn there backs on KSP in some years(decades hopefully)? Then you only have a game that is meant to be the basis for some creative modders that not exist anymore.

... I don't think Squad should do multiplayer...

I wholeheartedly agree. Don't waste resources on multiplayer, at least not yet. Better to first finish the game and only then start thinking about addition features like multiplayer.

Some modders come, some modders go. Some mods get abandoned or obsoleted, others get resurrected or created. You can't stop that from happening. As long as SQUAD keeps developing the game in such a way, and such a pace the players stay interested the (mod)community will stay active.

I've seen it happen to other games. As soon as the developers reduced their support the community collapsed. Less and less players meant there was no longer feedback on mods so the modders lost interest too and even more players lost interest. In the end the game simply died a sad, slow and silent death.
