Revised Munar 2X

In other news, almost done with beta .2 which is a comprehensive revision of the entire pack and includes career mode and science support fully. Just a few more parts and craft files sitting on the bench, everything else is ready now. Also, you get a LOT more with the next version and the size of the pack is still less than 340mb, thanks to an intense effort to compact things down.

Totally stoked .....

Man this stuff looks great. I can NOT wait to make a career working though to this :)

We're on the home stretch toward update release tyme. Got the cover art done and everything.

Noonespecial has made something very special with this assembly. Straight out of Boeing's Mars product catalog, you get space for snacks and it flies fantastic. Even with one hand on the controls you'll get there every time. I'll give it some more texture details tonight and sign off on the part.

This is the last new hardware to be integrated into the pack before the update.

Man thats pretty. Is noonespecial still working on his SLS? Because the stuff he showed on that thread was amazing. I know you guys were working together on some stuff but has he stopped with that?

Thanks for the interest, it's appreciated. I haven't stopped my SLS, the additions to ChakaMonkey ARE my SLS :). I will eventually be releasing them separately, as there will be some differences (mostly, textures and plugin dependencies). :).

♦ New solar and truss config.

♦ Balanced RCS power and endurance

I'm loving the new textures, especially all those hints of MLI foil insulation on parts!

Out of curiosity, is this picture part of your inspiration for the Transfer Vehicle? It looks veeeery similar!

That is such a cool picture! I've never seen that one actually.

No, I think the artist there and I must have come to similar conclusions based on the engineering constraints. Essentially, the monkey transfer vehicle is Copernicus with docking rings instead of a heavy drop tank truss, and a rigid hab instead of inflatable.

You're right though it does look like the painting!
