work the rework with out orginal mod or what must i do?

No, you must install the original MSI Robotics, then the rework parts. If you really don't want the original parts, you could delete those afterwards, but they can still do some things that haven't been released yet in the rework.

Why? Why must you taunt us so with such shiny items that we cannot yet have?!?!?

Because I can :P. No, the above photos were mainly to relieve Kipard's concerns about part clipping, although it has raised a number of issues with placing them that I need to resolve.

Also, these telescopic parts rely on translational tweakscaling in the not-yet-released 0.16 of IR

It does say "Model Rework" in the title. You can't escape me yet! :)

And he won't in the future either, when these parts supercede the existing selection :sticktongue:

TBH I already had a rather OP IDStrongStrut and the Quantum struts (and a couple in B9 and FireSpitter including invisible and narrow wire), and was kinda hoping for some sort of docking-strut functionality before I added them. I'm looking forward to the changes as they come.

Docking Strut functionality is on its way, curtosy of marce. The stuff he's been showing me is quite impressive!

My plan with struts was to offer the current IR Strut early on in the tech tree as an upgrade to the stock strut, with docking struts (now called Active Struts) coming along far later. IMO both have their roles to play, since the former can only be created in the VAB, whereas the latter can only be created during flight (for now).

On an unrelated note, I'm slowing working towards the pre-release of the first set of Foldatrons. Modelled some structural parts to accompany their style and created a specialised hinge too. This hinge replaces two of the previous parts I showed, since they didn't add anything to the lineup that wasn't already possible. Here's what the hinge and trusses looks like so far:

Also, this highlights the main reason why IR needs it's own strut solutions:

(those engines are meant to be parallel to the body)

That is sooo cool, the reason why I love IR mod. :)

Any news on inline wheels? :D

Also, where did this fuselage come from?

They are from KW rocketry, though I don't have an idea how they were placed like that.

Edit: Or maybe he changed surface attach for that part.

You can do that by changing the 2nd number of attachRules into a one like this: attachRules = 1,1,1,1,0

Gah, I've been expecting the truss inline sections for ages :( Seems like people's interest is making you develop more robotic arms parts though(in a space program game).

It would be amazing if those inline sections could get some love too.

Plans change, the design of some parts influence those of others etc, particularly because of this consistent styling I'm going for.

Everything I've shown will get released at some point, as it's all stuff I want to see in my own sandbox :)

I have a part request that I think many people would agree with.

Hubs much like the Rockomax hub part so that we can make a tight 90 degree bend without having to put in a hinge that won't be used. I know that at the very least I would like them and think they would fit very well into the parts.

Forgive me for asking, but what is wrong with, well, the Rockomax hub?

Too big. I'm wanting ones for use with the support tubes he made. The Rockomax hub is great for Stations but not for building rovers.

Also @Zodius could you make a 1.25m adapter to the Truss Pro set?

What if you used TweakScale to scale down the Rockomax hub?

I do plan to do some right angled trusses and tubes to fit in with the style, with other variations coming later down the road. As for a Truss Pro to 1.25, I've been thinking of a right-angled version of this for mounting engines on arms, but a normal inline one could be possible.

As with all of the things so far, I'll do them when I get inspiration. That being said, I would want to finalise the foldatron and extendatrons before working on structural parts again.

That's cool. I was just tossing out some ideas for parts I had. Loving the new look of the parts and can't wait for the foldatrons.
